description
The harbor and camping area are managed by Civitan (charitable organization) on behalf of Tønsberg Municipality during the summer season. Prices 2024: tent 100 NOK, guest pass for boat 100 NOK per night. Family-friendly and clear area, a paradise for small children! Good camping opportunities, water, shower (cold), and waste station. Not a place for parties and loud music late at night. In the summer season, the harbor to the north is limited to a maximum boat size of 28 feet. There is a swimming area in the harbor and many children swim around the boats + anchors crisscrossing. It will be challenging to maneuver in the harbor with 28+ feet, even outside the season, if you're not alone. In the northern part of the harbor, you are well protected from winds from most directions. The dock on the west side is somewhat exposed to waves from passing boats as there is a lot of traffic on this side. Here, there is usually no limitation on the number of feet, plenty of room for navigation. The harbor office, which is staffed during the summer season, is marked on the map.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 2 hours and 29 minutes ago (Thursday 31 October 11:27 PM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe wind directions for this harbour has been decided by an algorithm, based on how elevated the land around the harbour is. It's mostly correct, but sometimes the underlying data about elevation levels is not good enough to make correct decisions. It's a great help to other if you can validate or adjust the safe wind directions. You can see the data used by the algorithm to decide the safe wind directions by clicking here.
