Innseiling og maritime forhold: Flott, godt skjermet naturhavn ytterst mot havet.

Lett adkomst, noen grunner som er merket.

For å komme til Vassøyene må man krysse åpne strekninger hvor det kan være tildels stor sjø. I Ytre Fensfjord og Fedjeosen er det også stor trafikk av nyttefartøy alt fra små kystbåter til supertankere. Hurtigruten passerer øst for Vassøyene.
Ankring: Fortøyning med dregg mot fjell, med dregg mot molo eller noen steder longside. Noen bolter i fjellet, medbrakte anbefales.

Ett sted er det fendret med bildekk, og det er her det er bolter i fjellet.
Området: Flott havn opprinnelig anlagt av sjøforsvaret. Ligger ytterst ut mot havet, med er skjermet for bølger/drag. Rikt fugleliv og fiske.

Flott utsikt fra toppen av øyen.

Kort avstand til Byrknesøy, hvor drivstoff, vann og proviant er tilgjengelig.

Vassøyene er fredet/vernet fuglereservat så ilandstigning er ikke tillatt mellom 1/4 og 1/8, jfr Forskrift om fredning av Vassøyene (https://lovdata.no/dokument/LF/forskrift/1991-12-20-944/KAPITTEL_1#KAPITTEL_1).
