The municipal quay closest to the ferry dock no longer exists as of July 2024. Had to anchor to visit the store.

Approach and maritime conditions: Sør-Lenangen is located far out on the Ullsfjord side of the Lyngen Peninsula. The fjord is shallow, so stay in the middle of the fairway during the approach. In Sør-Lenangen, conditions are always calmer than in Ullsfjorden just outside, regardless of wind direction.
Anchoring: The shallow fjord offers good anchoring opportunities with sandy and clay bottom within the breakwater at Lenangsøyra. Anchoring depth is 4-10 meters. The Lyngen Alps provide good shelter from easterly winds, but note that waves can break mid-fjord at low tide with strong northwesterly winds.
The area: Excellent hiking opportunities in the Lyngen Alps and the surrounding area if you have a dinghy to go ashore with. At the innermost part of the fjord, there is a large cloudberry marsh that is popular in the summer months. There is also a marked trail that leads to the famous Blåisvatnet.

Two large, solid floating docks at the defunct fish processing plant. NOTE: There is no water available here! Additionally, there is a smaller harbor further in, as well as a number of private docks at each house. None of these have water either. Even rivers are scarce. Fill up on water before you come here!

Very shallow approach, kept to mid-channel at high tide, but the depth gauge showed only 2.4 meters. Inside the harbour it is deep enough. From what I understand, the two available guest spots are alongside the floating dock, but there's only space for two boats if both are under 30 feet. The floating dock is well maintained and here you can get water and electricity and dock for 4 hours for 100 NOK or for a day for 200 NOK. There is also a possibility to dispose of garbage near the harbour office. The location is beautiful and situated nicely sheltered with sandy beaches and a dock for swimming, paddleboarding, or other water activities.

Buoy for boats up to 10 tons. Larger boats can anchor in the sandy bottom just outside the buoy. Close to shore where there is a sandy beach facing both north and south. There can be quite a few people here on good weather days.
