Edholmen is a scenic location, often sheltered from the weather, and has a fantastic restaurant (remember to reserve a spot, it is often full).
The marina, however, is not much to boast about. It is very unclear where you can dock, and some spots are quite narrow. We ended up at a private spot because it was too dark to see the small sign down by the water on the pier where we docked. They also have a confusing maximum 3-hour concept on some piers, for restaurant guests. The problem is that there is no map or guide that tells you where is where, either on land or online. So you are dependent on talking to a harbor host if you can find him/her.
Toilets are also closed between 22:00 and 09:00.

Simple conditions. Intended for guests to the house and tourists in the area. Very quiet and untouched nature. Especially good as an emergency harbour in rough weather.

Surprisingly easy to dock, protected from wind, but some waves. Some of the harbors have so-called Mediterranean mooring, as another person here mentions, where you pick up lines from the water. These lines frequently get caught in propellers and bow thrusters.
Pre-booking costs extra, but there are also plenty of drop-in spots. It can be very crowded during events, but it's nice to anchor in the bay right next to here.

Lysekil is a small town with many good small shops, a nice harbour area with clean and good facilities. Easy to dock, good restaurants in the harbour, cheap and good pizza at Viking Pizza:)
