description
The marina has a consistent depth of around 4-6 metres depending on tide and lock usage. The lock is manned 24/7 but is restricted by tide. Approach is guided by a sector light and assistance with mooring is available for solo sailors. Post can be picked up at the marina. All berths are serviced, anchor free, floating, fixed pontoons with secure gates for pedestrian access. There is a hoist for liftout but no crane for unstepping of masts.
Major food shops, medical, pet, bus terminus, hotels, pubs, gyms, restaurants, chandlery, train station and a major town centre all within 10-15 minutes walk from the marina. Lots of pubs and eateries also on site. A local Brewers Fayre beside the marina has a children's play area.
HMS Trincomalee (part of the Museum of the Royal Navy) is moored within Jackson's Dock (west end of the marina) and the historic Headland with WW2 museum is a short bus ride away.
