Cozy harbor with a narrow but easy entrance.
NOTE that the harbor is classified as a natural harbor, which means no special services are available.

Electrical outlets are available, but to activate them I had to (in 2025) call the Simrishamn harbor office (0414-81 90 00). There I received an immediate friendly reception and help to activate the electricity.

The ice cream stand, run by the charming cosmopolitan artist Daniel, is recommended! Swedish ice cream class 1A.

Narrow entrance with strong tidal streams, but home made transit lines help keep you on the deep. I have entered with a 120' ship.
Entrance open to W, so approaching in heavy W weather is not a wise choice.
Once in the lagoon, you can anchor pretty much everywhere. See red circles in the map I have uploade. Depths are very moderate. Bottom loose clay and lots of kelp and grass, which can prevent your anchor from holding.

The inner part, east of the lagoon, is very narrow and not recommended for keel boats

On the NW shore is a bothy, a house open for campers.

The Cuan sound is one of the most difficult passages in the entire Hebridies. The tides are brutal, there is almost never slack water and the tidal streams don't follow the paths you would expect. My advice is to avoid the area unless you can get a local pilot

Well protected anchorage. Entrance is rather straightforward, the following local hint works well:

To enter the bay line up the green Dutch barn adjacent to the white farm buildings with the dry stone wall leading up to the cliffs on the other side of the island.

The holding is good with a sand bottom.

The island is small and very few people live on it, no facilities such as shops.

Good and sheltered anchorage in a spot where you often need it.

Vormsi (Ormsö in Swedish) is an interesting and beautiful island, admittedly mostly to Swedes, because of the long standing cultural connection.
Rent bicycles and do the entire island in one morning!

St Olovs church is worth visiting, even if it is doubted that Olov ever did. Don't miss the nearby graveyard with the peculiar circle crosses

The marina is new and well equipped, although small and not very sheltered. Navigate with caution, the channel leading to the marina is narrow.

Anchorage with lousy holding, because of the kelp and rocky bottom.

Catabactic winds often roar down the mountain sides, making it a very unsafe place

My advice is ho stay only day hours in very calm weather and to go elsewhere for the night
