Approach and maritime conditions: Good harbor at the entrance to the Sognefjord, sheltered from weather and wind with depths suitable for sailboats and potentially larger vessels (new guest pier 2022).
Mooring: Guest spots at 2 floating docks or alongside the pier. Payment via the GoMarina app or at the hotel.
The area: Located by Hotel Sognefjord and a smaller shopping center with a grocery store, hairdresser, florist, offices for businesses, etc. Diesel and gasoline refueling for large and small boats is about 500 meters from the dock. Beautiful beach with new service building/WC/shower about 800 meters from the marina (new walking path). New, excellent frisbee golf course (free) at Haukås about 1 km up towards Handal from the marina. Hiking trails (circular routes) to mountain peaks, barbecue hut (forest road panorama), viewpoints, etc. Bicycles, e-bikes, and jet skis can be rented at the hotel. About 8 km from Leirvik is Hyllestad Millstone Park, where guided tours or self-guided tours allow you to see remnants of large-scale millstone production dating back to the Viking Age, which was exported/shipped throughout Norway and to Europe.
