Unfortunately, the guest marina fee is too expensive compared to the service. Sure, you can get help from the harbor staff BUT you have to call first. We have been to Danish harbors where you are greeted by staff who, even during busy times, directly assist boats in finding a good spot. This harbor is not straightforward when it comes to seeing where free spots are, and unfortunately, there are no indications of the width between the pilings. Fortunately, other boat owners are usually helpful, so there is always space.

Samsø quickly became a favorite for us. A very well-organized harbor with high-class harbor masters. A number of places can be booked via their website in a simple and orderly manner. We called the harbor 10 minutes before arrival, and we were met by 2 people who helped with mooring and welcomed us with a handshake after assisting with electricity and everything we needed for a good stay.
The harbor fills up in good Danish style, in other words, to the brim. But the nice thing is that they ALWAYS find space for everyone who wants it, whether they arrive early or late. This necessarily involves a bit of logistics to get out again, but it works out well in true sailor fashion.
The amenities in the harbor are many and the food is very good, so it's possible to stay for several days. There is also a Dagli Brugsen in the harbor that is open 365 days a year, which exceeded expectations in terms of what goodies could be found, including a bakery.
It is also incredibly nice to rent bikes and cycle around the island. There are nice e-bikes in the harbor that can be rented via the web and work very well.
All in all, an incredibly great experience.

Good and safe harbour, very good as a way station and to purchase foods. Mooring towards pontoons or piers, partly also alongside. The harbour is very busy in summer, be prepared to raft up.
There is a supermarket directly in the harbour, and some restaurants. However, the surroundings are much nicer in the north of Samsoe.

Very popular harbour, especially during the high season. Cozy with several good restaurants and shopping opportunities. Decent beaches on each side of the harbour. Have occasionally sailed on due to the harbour being overcrowded.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 1 hour and 50 minutes ago (Monday 07 September 02:29 PM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
The safe wind directions for this harbour has been decided by an algorithm, based on how elevated the land around the harbour is. It's mostly correct, but sometimes the underlying data about elevation levels is not good enough to make correct decisions. It's a great help to other if you can validate or adjust the safe wind directions. You can see the data used by the algorithm to decide the safe wind directions by clicking here.
