Innseiling og maritime forhold: Ligger rett inn moloåpningen, til venstre
Fortøying: Longside flytebrygge. Det er en jevn trafikk med hurtigbåtruter inn/ut av havna, lønner seg å ligge på molosiden av flytebrygga så man er mer skjermet for bølger og strøm fra disse.
Området: Sakset fra SNL: Brekstad ligger ved munningen av Trondheimsfjorden og innløpet til Stjørnfjorden. Stedet har småindustri, distriktsmedisinsk senter og Mascot Høie sengetøyfabrikk. Ørland Kultursenter åpnet i 2009 med en egen avdeling for Hannah Ryggen. Brekstad er kommunikasjonsknutepunkt med hurtigbåt til Trondheim og Kristiansund, fergeforbindelse over Trondheimsfjorden til Valset og Ørland lufthavn med daglig flyrute til Oslo. Ved kommunesammenslåing med Bjugn til nye Ørland kommune i 2020 ble kommunens sentraladministrasjon samlet i tettstedet Bjugn. Ørland hovedflystasjon like nordvest for tettstedet har F-35 jagerfly, Sea King redningshelikoptre og AWACS overvåkningsfly. Ca 2300 innbyggere. Hjemsted
