description
The outermost of the islands off Bodø. As of today, 14 permanent residents, and not tailored for boat tourists. Fortunately perhaps, because it is a charming little community, in many ways untouched by tourism. There are no 'strange constructions' and expensive beer. Approaches are from the north, northeast, and from the west or southwest. Check the chart. Some charts are a bit inaccurate regarding depth conditions, but there is plenty of depth in the passage, around 4-5 meters. We came in from the southwest. The only marked anchorage on the chart is in the harbor, where a fishing boat is permanently moored, and space for anchoring is limited. It is generally open with low islands and skerries. We anchored a little bit southwest in the passage we came in. Confirmed by locals that we were not in the way there. The express boat enters the passage from the north. Some moor at the public quay, which is fairly new and good. But be aware of the express boat so that it has space. It is open, with little room for swinging around on the anchor, and I am unsure if I would stay there in bad weather. If seeking shelter, I would rather head to Helligvær, which is nearby with a better harbor. But a great place in nice weather.
