Nice sheltered harbour but shore facilities currently poor. Apparently the old service buildings on the old pier have been knocked down and a new pier built but the contractor hasn’t guaranteed it for building on so local I spoke to wasn’t sure what was happening. Meanwhile the fees are high and, in last week of May, there is no toilet. Also showers are 50NOK but no option in GoMarina to pay. Suspect the temporary facilities are here for the summer? My wife found a toilet in the shopping complex to the south where there is a Spar.

The guest harbor in Grimstad has been undergoing changes for several years after the old steamship dock and service facility/restaurant were demolished. There are now (as of May 2026) buoys for bow/stern mooring at the outermost dock. Furthermore, there are some very wide berths, and alongside berths on the reconstructed steamship dock. The alongside berths here are marked 'Maximum 36 ft.' and divided with fire zones. The dock farthest to the west has alongside berths. From September to May, these are used for long-term rental/winter storage. On this dock, there are fire zones with physical barriers.

The service facility, which is open from June to September, is a temporary(?) container solution where the facilities do not match the price.

Grimstad is a cozy town where everything is within walking distance. Juskestredet, which is a small, hidden street with good restaurants, is recommended. At Apotekergaarden, there is food, drink, and entertainment such as concerts and stand-up shows.

The children liked it here. Up to several playgrounds along the promenade between the harbor and Odden Center. Plenty of shopping opportunities at Odden Center, as well as a liquor store close to the harbor. Hot dogs and ice cream at Notto's, located in the harbor, are popular. The harbor master is friendly and helpful. The waste disposal can be a bit difficult to find, but it is located at the back of the temporary service cabins.

Approach and maritime conditions: Grimstad city center. Very simple approach. Maximum speed of 5 knots in the inner harbor ensures minimal waves.
Mooring: Moor alongside. Anchoring is not allowed due to cables at the bottom of the water. Approximately 5m deep.
