As a follow-up to the previous comment: The harbour is only closed in the event of very strong winds from the east. I cannot confirm that it is often closed. The fact that the harbour is closed in strong winds from a specific direction applies to several harbours on Bornholm.
The toilet facilities are not easy to find as they are not signposted.
Yes, the village is very touristy. This is partly because the passenger ferry to Christiansø departs from here. So if you’re not travelling to Christiansø in your own boat, this is one option. The village has a grocery shop and several restaurants. There’s also a lovely stretch of the coastal walk if you head west. In strong westerly winds, this harbour is a better alternative to the northern harbour.
Some further important information about the berths: In the first harbour basin, two larger boats can moor alongside. The second harbour basin has mooring lines (chains). In the third harbour basin, you can moor if the berth is marked in green.
I was here in mid-August and a westerly wind had driven blue-green algae into the rear harbour basin. This causes an unbearable stench.
As there is no symbol for fresh water: you can fill up with fresh water between the middle and rear harbour basins (in front of the post office ship).

Gudhjem is a lovely village even if it's a bit too touristy (even in mid season).
The harbour is subject to swell making it's entrance dangerous, so it's often closed.
3 red light indicate (night) and a Red ball (day) indicate that status.
The webcam can be used to control the situation in advance.

Do you know this harbour? It's a huge help to other sailors if you add a short description or review of the harbour.

Want to know how the wind score works? Then you should read this explanation.
The wind forecasts come from yr.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute), and was last updated 2 hours and 15 minutes ago (Sunday 13 September 06:33 AM). The next night score shows you the worst hour between 22:00 and 08:00 the next night. We recommend that you check multiple sources for wind forecasts. windy.com is a good website to show larger wind systems.
