Halten er nesten en museumsøy, og du finner gamle og vakre hus der.
Krykkja er en liten måkefugl, og utbredelsen dens er sterkt nedadgående. Den liker seg nært bebygd strøk, og på Halten er det etablert en koloni på nordsiden av det røde bryggeanlegget.

Halten: På nordsiden av fyret ligger det noen svære bøyer som enkelte gjester benytter seg av. Bøyene tilhører kommersielle fiskebåter, så om du er dristig nok til å fortøye her bør du ikke forlate området og være klar til å vike plassen på kort varsel.

Innseiling og maritime forhold: Halten er det nordligste fiskeværet i øyrekka utenfor Frøya. Det er siste skanse før du går over Haltenbanken på vei nordover, og første trygge landkjenning på vei sørover. Halten ligger værhardt til, men du ligger trygt i den solide havna. Det ikoniske fyret er synlig i god tid før du ankommer Halten.
Fortøying: Det er en solid flytebrygge for gjester rett innenfor moloen i vest. Det er longside fortøying.
