Beau mouillage situé au pied des falaises, souvent utilisé par les trappeurs et les expéditions.
Midterhukhamna signifie « le port du promontoire central » Deux cabanes de chasseurs se trouvent sur la péninsule : la première, située sur la plage, date de 1898 ; la seconde, construite en 2014, à l’arrière.
Le mouillage est encadré par des récifs, à l’est comme à l’ouest.
On jette l’ancre au milieu de la petite baie, par 7 à 8 mètres de profondeur, sur un fond de vase, de roche, ponctué de zones d’algues. La tenue est moyenne. Par vent de sud-est à nord-est, la vallée située juste à l’est du mouillage crée un effet venturi : de fortes rafales balaient alors la zone et le mouillage devient rapidement intenable.
L’accès à terre se fait par une plage. Des rennes y sont fréquemment observés.
Au nord, une réserve ornithologique abrite de nombreuses espèces d’oiseaux. Durant la période de nidification, il est interdit de s’en approcher à moins de 300 mètres.
