Entry is convoluted but quite easy. But there are very limited number of guest berths and most of those are taken up with permanent Pilot boats and other small day boats. It is quite possible on arrival there will be no room at the guest dock at all. The other guest harbour is closed as of September 2026 for repairs, so basically there is not many guest spots at all in Trondheim and very few alternatives nearby. Off season I managed to find a spot usually occupied by a summer tour boat, but of course then there was no power available. No showers, no toilets although there is a timed pay public toilet about 10 mins walk away, but it was out of order when I visited. Trondheim is great, but not good at the moment for visiting boats…maybe the refurbished guest harbour by the cruise ship dock will turn that around. Note: I left boat for the winter in the canal with Riggmaster AS. Very sheltered.

As of the last week of September 2026, the Brattørbasin is closed due to maintenance.
Therefore, space was tight/sparse at Skansen guest harbor. Staff on the Trondheim harbor duty phone were very helpful in arranging berths.
Nevertheless, I think that 350 NOK per night plus 50 NOK access to the service building, which is a 20-minute walk away, plus 20 NOK per shower is rather steep considering the conditions...

This marina do not have any toilet/shower facilities as of July 2025. Very limited number of power outles for charging your batteries (inside a wooden box).
NOTE: This harbour is very challenging in harsh weather from North-West. This may happen also during summer months. Put the nose of your vessel facing west in these conditions.

For toilet/shower, you need to walk 15 min to the alternative marina in the "Ytre basseng" where you see the fast ferries dock, close to the Clarion Hotel and Congress center.
15 min walk to the City center.
2 min to "Lille-Skansen" where you can get a good lunch or Dinner. A couple of shops within 5 min walk to refill your fridge + a pizza-bar.
The diesel is of good quality.
You may experience noise from the lorries, which may also be loading during night.

A lot of current around the harbour. Very expensive 390,- a night inc electricity. +40,- a day to enter the servicebuildning. +10 for 10 min shower. +25 washing machine. +25 dryer.
