The Noorder- and Zuiderhavens in the center of Harlingen have a capacity of approximately 100 visitor places and 92 fixed places. Both harbors are tidal; the Noorderhaven is suitable for vessels with a draft up to 2.20m, and the Zuiderhaven is for larger and deeper-draft vessels. When the tide is nap >1.10m, the high-water doors are closed. The closure duration is on average 1 hour before to 1 hour after high water, depending on the wind (onshore wind = buildup). When the high-water doors are closed, you cannot enter or exit the harbor. When the doors close, this is (usually) indicated with a notice on the door at the harbor office.

The Zuiderhaven in the center of Harlingen belongs to the Noorderhaven. The harbor office is located at the Noorderhaven. Both harbors have a capacity of approximately 100 transient berths and 92 fixed berths. Both harbors are tidal; the Noorderhaven is suitable for vessels with a draft up to 2.20m, and the Zuiderhaven is for larger and deeper-draft vessels.
If you need to enter the Zuiderhaven due to draft, you must request the bridge opening via VHF radio. When entering the harbor area, there is a sign displaying the VHF channel.

When the tide is NAP >1.10m, the high water doors close. The closing period is on average 1 hour before to 1 hour after high tide, depending on the wind (onshore wind = surge). When the high water doors are closed, you cannot enter or leave the harbor. Usually, a notice is posted at the harbor office (at the Noorderhaven) when the doors are closed.

July 2025 the floating dock is gone, thus no berths for deep-draft yachts. Several motorboats are moored at the fixed docks near the shore.

There are two fixed piers with mooring buoys.
We are here with a strong south-southeast wind (18 knots) and it is very restless, with many waves in the bay.

Beautiful anchorage where you are not bothered by the swell from the ferries that follow the main route. Depth decreases from 6 meters at the beginning of the bay to 3-3.5 meters near the island Delholm.

Floating dock with finger piers. Depth approximately 7 meters at the dock. Toilet, shower, and sauna in the restaurant.
The harbourmaster assists with mooring and comes by to settle the bill. Various restaurants on the island.

It is recommended to call the harbour master before approach due to the depth when entering. Right before the harbour, there are a few buoys (red and green, self-explanatory). We consistently measured 3 meters depth during the approach. At the pier, it is about 4 meters.
