Anchor to the north of the island. The harbour wall is used by the ferry. Visitors can bring dinghy to the wooden jetty alongside the beach. The island has no water. There is a gift shop, wartime infrastructure and historic Abbey ruins to explore. Well worth a visit.

Anchor in shelter within ruined harbour, there are submerged concrete constructions to the N and NW. Anchoring can also be done outside the harbour in suitable wind. It is not advised to tie up to the ruined harbour wall without good fendering. Land on the beach. The island is excellent to explore, with abandoned buildings and tunnels. Bring a torch for the tunnels. You will be attacked by birds, so bring an umbrella or paddle to wave.

A nice drying harbour with visitor pontoons for boats that can dry out on mud. Entrance susceptible to swell in storms. Before leaving check for swell, even if harbour appears calm. Good local shops and fish and chips. Fantastic fishing (maritime) museum.

Forth Cruising Club extends a welcome to visiting yachts and yacht clubs.
Capernaum Pier is a drying harbour accessible three hours before high water and two hours after. There are two drying pontoons* near the head of the pier and a third towards the back of the harbour, yachts may also tie up against the wall, where there are regularly spaced ladders and plenty of mooring eyes. Water and electricity is available on the pier. Showers and toilet facilities are available in our clubhouse. Upstairs in the clubhouse there is a bar and lounge area. The bar has no regular hours, opening only for specific events such as some post race BBQs, Regattas and parties (see Calendar), but if you are organising a club cruise, please let us know you are coming and we can arrange to have the bar available if required. In front of the clubhouse there is a patio and garden area with seating which you are welcome to use.
* The two front pontoons and the approach cardinal marks for Brucehaven and Town Pier are removed for the winter at crane out.
For the younger visitor having been cooped up on board, sometimes for several hours, there is an excellent park with play equipment within a short walk of the harbour.
