This is a small bay for one boat. Anchoring in 6-7 meters sand with a few weed patches. Anchor in the middle.
Open to south west to northwest.
On the west coast of Sardinia are few well protected anchorages. And in the northern part the few that give some protection are small. In westerly winds you better go further south in the direction of Alghero.
For eastern winds however this is a very nice and comfortable spot.

Most beautiful cala to stay overnight next to Capo Testa. Pretty well protected except from the north. The last place to stop before you cross the straight of Bonifacio to Corsica or before you go further west as we did. Anchoring is strictly forbidden here but there are 8 mooring buoys for various lengths up to 24 m.
This is a protected area managed by "area marina protetta". Online booking should be possible but you have to be a wizard to find out how to book online. There is no link that directs you to the right spot. After half an hour I gave up. Next morning someone came to the spot. I could pay by card €100,- for boats over 12 meters. Officially there's a 30% fine if you don't reserve and pay online.
https://areamarinaprotettacapotestapuntafalcone.it/
I read somewhere that it's also bookable through the Donia app. I downloaded it but for whatever reason only three harbours in France came up. Maybe others are more fortunate or smarter.
On top of the cliff there is a restaurant and an bar/terrace. You can put your dinghy on the small beach and climb up a path and wooden stairs or go to a concrete stairs where you can leave your dinghy.

La Marinedda is a pretty big cala with lots of anchoring space in 4-6 meters sand. Pretty good shelter but open to the north and north west. There's a marina right around the corner just in case.
This is a tourist location so beaches with sun beds, restaurants and everything that comes with it.

This is a great bay with beautiful views on lower hilly land. Quite different when you just passed 20 miles of high rocky coastline.
Anchoring hawever is prohibited since june 2026. It'a wide and open but on the mooring buoys you are safe anyway.
You can use one of the 23 mooring buoys. Mooring in 4-5 meters depth.
Strict new regulations apply to the bay of Porto Conte and the surrounding Marine Protected Area (Area Marina Protetta Capo Caccia – Isola Piana).
You can register at https://www.algheroparks.it/en/
In june the booking site was still under construction.
The nearby harbour Ponte Conte is privatly owned. Looks pretty shabby but has berths up to 11 meters in max 3 m. depth.

Good anchor spot in sand that holds very good.
I anchored directly on the north side of the bay where mountains give more protection. Closer to shore there are awash rocks on 5 meters depth. 50 Meter southbound is 7-8 meters sandy anchoring space.
You can also anchor on the east side on sand in front of a long beach with a few beach clubs. One of them can be very noisy with music.
There’s a pizzeria on top of the nearby cliff.

It's a beautiful quiet spot with two small beaches, one of which is a nudist beach. Because the beaches are pretty remote it's not crowded and noisy. That makes it a lovely quiet spot. This was beginning of June.
Anchoring in sand between 5 and 10 meters depth. It's our favorite spot with winds from W to NE.
The famous Nikki beach club is just around the corner. That anchor bay is much more crowded with power boats and charter catamarans. Those are the places we like to avoid.

If you arrive from the east or north this is actually the first very good sheltered cala on La Maddalena.
It is a beautiful spot but apparently also pretty expensive. I read different rates from €120-€300 per night on a buoy for 15 meters.
On the right side just in front op the small harbour there are about 10 yellow mooring buoys.
We made a request online through Navily but it was still pending when we arrived.
In the cala we contacted Cala Massimo directly but we couldn't get a buoy although not one of them was occupied. They also have a small harbour but they said it was closed. We were directed to anchor on the left side of the cala.
We anchored in 8-10 meters. There are sandy spots to drop anchor.
On shore there's a beach restaurant with a jetty for your dinghy.
Since new regulations you may stay overnight at anchor. You need a permit to sail in the Maddalena Archipellago. For sail boats there's a 40% discount. We paid €84 for a 7 days permit for a 15m boat.

This is one of my favourite harbours on the east coast of Sardegna since there are no charter boats and the prices are more affordable (€90 per night in June, 15 m). Very good sheltered. Beware of the rocks when approaching the harbour. The marker buoys are small and poorly visable but your plotter will help you out. The S-shaped entrance is pretty small with on the right side a fuel station and Crane. It has concrete quays but not too high. In the middle of the harbour there are concrete pontoons but these are used for smaller power boats. Marinero's are friendly and helpfull. This harbour is part of the project with golf course, hotel and resort with privately owned houses and appartments that is beautifully embedded in the surrounding. There is an elevated square with one bar with terrace and 3 restaurants which are really good. Furthermore there are a few shops, a CRAI supermarket (although expensive), farmacie/drugstore. No self-service laundry.
You can call a laundry service but they either don't answer or it takes too lang before you get your landry back.
Fore shore power you need the biggest adaptor.
