Navigation and Maritime Conditions: Easy navigation, situated in the fairway. Shoals well-marked. One side of the northernmost pier reserved for the aquaculture industry. For sailboats, strong north winds can be particularly challenging.
Docking: Two floating docks. One is relatively low and of an older type. The other is newer and sturdier, but its south side is reserved for Vega Seafood. If there is no boat from Vega Seafood upon arrival, a workboat will come there later in the afternoon/evening. Exposed to north winds, and narrow between floating docks. Operators of Skogsholmen Guesthouse plan an additional guest dock in summer 2021.
The Area: Skogsholmen has no permanent residents, but most houses are used as vacation homes. Skogsholmen Guesthouse is a former boarding school in the spirit of Roy Jacobsen. Areas for ball games, outdoor dining, and first-class food (2021) in the restaurant. A short walk from the docks.

Docking: Floating dock, where the longest part is a newer and good concrete dock. The part of the floating dock farthest in is an older wooden dock (no water/electricity on this part).
Total approximately 160m guest dock.
Depth 5-25m
The area: The dock house: cozy pub by the dockside.
Fjord Sauna: floating sauna on the guest dock.
Urke general store: a short walk
Peak tours: good starting point for bls Saksa (1073m asl) and Urkeeggen.
