Nordkoster Bodpallen: You can enter Kostersund from the east and the west side. This shows the entrance from the east side. Bodplallen Marina is on the right (north) side of the channel, and Långegärde marina a bit further in on the left side.

Wc og dusjer tilgjengelig rett ved gjestebrygga. Havnekontor ligger et par hundre meter lengre bort hvor rutebåten legger til. Betalingsinformasjon er skiltet på selve brygga, der hvor du fortøyer, du betaler via mobil. For å komme til butikk tar en kabelferja over til Sydkoster og går ca en km til ICA butikken, eller en tar til høyre og leier seg en sykkel. På vei til ICA kan du gå opp på utkikspunkt som er tilrettelagt med tretrapper og hvilebenker. Du passerer også kirka, legg merke til kronen på spiret, historien om den står på infotavla ved kirka.

Det er to gjestehavner på Nord-Koster: En i Kostersundet og en ved Vettnett i nord-øst.

Gjestehavnen i Kostersundet (denne) er størst. Det er en lang flytebrygge i sundet. Sydvesten blåser godt gjennom Kostersundet, men det blir lite sjø og man ligger trygt. Her ligger også mesteparten av bebyggelsen samt restauranter og annet som foregår. En flott sandstrand ligger i Basteviken 750 m. over på andre siden av øya. Det er en liten lineferge over til Syd-koster.

Nord-Koster er litt mindre enn Syd-Koster og store deler av øya er natur-reservat. Den bebygde delen er derfor vesentlig mindre og man kan komme seg rundt til fots. Her er det lite trafikk og fredeligere enn på Syd-Koster, men veldig sjarmerende. Det er to restauranter og et par kaféer på øya. En stor-kiosk har et begrenset utvalg matvarer.
