description
Vardø is Norway's easternmost town. Vardøhus Fortress is the main tourist attraction, followed by the memorial site at Steilneset. The French-American visual artist Louise Bourgeois has bequeathed art to Vardø. The plan is for this art to be installed within the next two years in a building connected to the fortress area.
It is walking distance from the floating dock to Rema 1000, located at the height of the main island.
Immediately to port after passing the outer breakwater, there are large, sturdy plastic and concrete floating docks. There is a tall NOFI dock made of plastic at an angle, clad in wood. There are also lower concrete floating docks connected to the NOFI dock. Several fishermen rent spots for longer periods, but there is plenty of space. There is some swell from the sea outside the breakwater.
The docks have electricity, but no water. Water can be filled from a hose at the fuel dock. There is waste disposal on land. At the dock, there is a posted phone number for the Welfare Station for Fishermen (Sjøkanten rental). Here, it is possible to access a washing machine, dryer, shower, TV, and kitchen.
Within the inner breakwater, there is a floating dock. Here, the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue has a lifeboat station. There are several spots at this dock, but most are probably occupied by boats from the local fishing fleet. On the quay right above the lifeboat, it is possible to buy fuel. Card machine.

There is a floating dock at the innermost part of the Hurtigruten quay, right by the tourist information. Some waves when the Hurtigruten docks.
