This is a fine natural harbor with a great swimming beach. Frequently used by boats on day trips.
The harbor provides good shelter from westerly winds, but some swell comes in. Open to winds from the east and north. A fine harbor for a short stop before heading south or over to Denmark.
Boats with shallow drafts can moor to the shore and use a stern anchor. There is a rocky bottom further out where it is natural to anchor, which makes it a bit difficult to get a good hold.

Easy approach. The guest harbor is to starboard. The first two piers are for guests. E is the first and D is the next. Other piers are marked r/g. Depths are well marked with signs on the floating docks. Mooring rings for side-on mooring on E-dock and booms on D-dock.
If you go further into the main harbor, there is a larger harbor with good depth throughout. Here you moor alongside stone piers with car tires. The pier edge is high, making it less suitable for smaller boats.
There are showers and toilets, but no lounge or kitchen. The shower is included in the fee. Reasonable prices. Harbor fees and electricity are paid online. Electrical outlets are activated via a website.
Beautiful sandy beaches north of the town and excellent cycling/walking paths both south and north of the town. There is also a small sandy beach within the harbor.

A very nice harbour. Modern pier facilities. Abundant water and power outlets. Moor alongside when it's not peak season.
Nicely developed area on land. Great seating areas on terraces and a barbecue area. Excellent sanitary facilities. Neat and clean. Reasonable harbour fees.
The hotel's restaurant is open every day. Pub on the pier during the season.
Many well-marked hiking trails in the area.
New fuel facility on the floating dock with a card machine on the starboard side right after entering. The card machine is on land right behind the large tank (A short distance away and cannot be seen from the pump).

Very beautiful area with numerous chalk-white sandy beaches. Nature conservation area, but it is permitted to go ashore on many of the islands even during the nesting season. Check the map on Naturbase online to get it right.
It's easiest to enter from the SE. Follow a natural channel with sandbanks on each side. There is a deep 'hole' of 25 meters in the middle of the area, but good anchoring opportunities before and after.
Anchor on a sandy bottom at 9-15 meters. Good holding ground. No swell or waves from traffic. Well protected from wind from the N and NE.

Pleasant guest harbour. Great beaches north of the city and 'all' amenities in the city. Easy approach. Some swell in strong southern winds.
Reasonable harbour fees for a city. Many berths and always room for one more.

Good protection from easterly winds. Some swell from ship traffic. Lots of vegetation on the bottom. Better anchorage a bit north of the river mouth.
Great hiking terrain. Nice sandy beach.

There are alongside moorings in the outer harbor, within the breakwater. During the high season, the harbor master is out in a RIB and shows the moorings. All boats must be moored or out of the harbor 15 minutes before the ferry docks or departs.
There are anchorage spots outside, but they are exposed to winds from the west.
Shop, diesel, gasoline, and restaurants in the harbor. The town is 3 km from the harbor. Bicycle rentals in the harbor. Fantastic beaches.

Island with both cultural landscape and forest. Easy to come ashore with a dinghy. Several trails. If heading south through Tjeldsundet, this harbor is well positioned for a stop while waiting for the current in Tjeldsundet to head south.
Easy approach. There is a solid buoy with a 1000 kg anchor weight in the bay. It is set out by the local association. Everyone can use it. The association encourages those who use the buoy to pay a small or large amount. See the picture with info.
It is fine to anchor with your own anchor, and it is possible to moor to the land by the cliff east in the bay.

Kjelmøya is a large island with several coves that can be used as anchoring spots. There are also several beautiful sandy beaches and remnants of German positions and bunkers. There are two cabins at the innermost part of the bay.
Easy approach. It is deep right outside the bay. One has to go quite far into the bay to achieve suitable depth. This means that there is somewhat limited room to swing. Good holding ground of sand. Little vegetation on the bottom. The bay is sheltered from swells from the Barents Sea.

Vadsø is a small town where all attractions are within walking distance from the harbor. There is a museum up the hill, right behind the church, and on a flat area down by the sea, there is an airship mast. The mast was used to moor the airship Italia during a stopover on its way to the North Pole.
Easy approach from the west. Contact the harbor watch before arrival (see Vadsø harbor's website). The harbor watch is very helpful in finding a suitable place to moor. It is mainly the west side of the large concrete floating pier that is for guests. It is fended with large tires. The short end of the concrete pier has wood cladding and has a crane to lift equipment in/out of fishing boats. For shorter stops, you can stay there by arrangement with the harbor watch. There are no facilities for electricity and water for visiting boats.
At the innermost point of the harbor, there is a quay that can also be used.
On the opposite side of the bay (SOUTH in the harbor), there is a floating pier with fuel and water.

Ekkerøy is a nature reserve and a gem. There are two large beaches that offer excellent conditions for surfing. Great hiking opportunities on the peninsula. Rich birdlife and fauna. One gets close to the kittiwake colony on the cliffs on the south side. A short distance to miles of trails on the Varanger Peninsula.
In the summer, there is a restaurant on the pier that offers local food. Great atmosphere and very good food.
There is easy navigation. It is possible to dock on the west side of a floating pier if you do not have a deep draft. Otherwise, there is plenty of room to anchor. Sandy bottom with good holding.
A breakwater protects against swells from the Barents Sea and winds from the SW, but the harbor is exposed to winds from the W-NW. There are no facilities on the pier.

Very scenic area. Rich birdlife. Great sandy beach and easy terrain to walk in. The top of the island is a great place to observe the midnight sun from.
Simple approach. A fair-weather harbor. Exposed to wind from the SW.
The depth shallows quickly after the 10m curve. Therefore, consider the length of the anchor chain in SW wind, or anchor further from shore.

Hold utkikk.
Veldig imøtekommende Havnevakt. Se havnens nettside for telefonnummer.

A very nice guest harbor. During the peak season, you will be greeted by harbor hosts who show you the space and help you with mooring. There are many spaces in the harbor, most in berths. The piers have a good length.
Reasonable prices. Electricity included. Great sanitary facilities with shower and sauna included in the price! Exceptionally good cleanliness. Restaurants on the pier. Waste sorting.
Many attractions in the city. Grocery stores 850m from the harbor (Lidl or Hemköp)

The guest harbor is south of the bridge. Easy approach. There is some current in the strait. The harbor is exposed to swell. East in the harbor, there are side-to docks against stone or car tires with a depth of 3m. You should expect to raft four to five boats alongside each other in each row.
West in the harbor, buoys have been laid out for anchoring with the bow towards land and the stern towards the buoys. Varying depths. On some days of the week, the mail boat arrives and docks on the east side. During those times, all boats must move from that dock. Passenger ferries dock north of the bridge.
Especially beautiful and unique landscape. Great swimming area from the dock with a ladder. Cafe and restaurant. Limited water supply. Some power outlets.

Levende fiskerihavn. Flott turterreng rundt tettstedet.

Diesel and gasoline at the innermost part of the marina. Card machine. Boats with deep drafts should not go all the way to the fuel pumps at low tide.

A very well-sheltered harbour.
Pleasant center with a dining place by the dock, bakery/pastry shop, and some stores. Excellent hiking terrain with nature close at hand.
BĂĄtsfjord Church has Europe's largest stained-glass window, measuring a full 85 square meters.
It is a vibrant community with industrial enterprises and shops of various kinds. Rema 1000 right by the small boat docks.
The entrance is easy day and night. There are no dedicated quays for the guest harbour. In the outer harbour, northwest in the harbour, there are two floating docks. The floating dock below Coop Extra is open to everyone, but when we were there, it was filled with fishing boats.
In the inner harbour, port side after the first breakwater, is the small boat harbour. The berths are rented out, but it is possible to lay alongside the outermost pier on a couple of the docks. There are some floating docks without finger piers, where it is possible to lie alongside. Most are occupied by fishermen.
There is power and water on the docks, but the power outlets are reserved for those who rent the spaces. No service building for boat guests. But at the innermost part of the harbour, there is a motorhome parking area that belongs to BĂĄtsfjord Hotel and Camping. Here it is possible to 'rent in' to use the sanitary facilities.
Diesel from the quay at the outermost part of the harbour on the south side. Card machine. High up to the quay edge.

Beautiful area with majestic mountains. Easy to come ashore with a dinghy in many places.
There are no obstacles in the entrance, and the bay is large. It is too deep to anchor in the middle of the bay for smaller boats, but on the NW and ESE sides, it is shallower. These coves also provide shelter from SSW winds and sea. There is good holding ground.
The high mountain on the eastern side leads to katabatic winds when it blows from the NE. The wind can then become quite strong.

The view from the swinging anchorage in the bay is five stars. This is a very scenic area, but it is extremely difficult to go ashore with a dinghy, especially at low tide. The terrain is challenging to traverse once you get ashore. If you want to see Sanna, you should anchor on the NE side of the island.
Good swinging anchorage, with good holding ground. Be aware of shallow waters close to shore at the very north of the bay. It is underwater at high tide, but visible at low tide.

Great area.
No access to sanitary facilities or waste disposal from this dock. There is water and electricity on the dock.
The municipal floating dock in the inner harbor has water and diesel and two guest spots for boats under 11 meters. There are also toilets on land, but limited opportunities for disposing of waste.

Scenic area. Abundant bird and wildlife.
Clear entrance. Follow the eastern channel for the last stretch in.
The innermost western bay is only for boats with a shallow draft.
On the way into the eastern bay, there is a threshold SE of the islet at approximately 3 meters. Inside the bay, there is a floating dock where boats up to 40 feet can moor.
There are nice tables and benches on land. Information about dock fees and the Vipps number is posted on a sign.

It is a very well-sheltered harbor. One should sail into the bay north of the anchorage area from NW. The southern passage can only be navigated at high tide.
Not the best holding ground, but there is not much wind inside here. There is a buoy in the bay, with a mooring of unknown quality.

Very well sheltered anchorage.
Keep to the middle of the fjord and you can go all the way into the fjord where there is very good swinging room. Be careful to stay in the middle of the fjord where it is narrowest. The depth at the innermost part is 10 meters on a completely flat sandy bottom with good holding.
Great hiking opportunities on land.

Vardø is Norway's easternmost town. Vardøhus Fortress is the main tourist attraction, followed by the memorial site at Steilneset. The French-American visual artist Louise Bourgeois has bequeathed art to Vardø. The plan is for this art to be installed within the next two years in a building connected to the fortress area.
It is walking distance from the floating dock to Rema 1000, located at the height of the main island.
Immediately to port after passing the outer breakwater, there are large, sturdy plastic and concrete floating docks. There is a tall NOFI dock made of plastic at an angle, clad in wood. There are also lower concrete floating docks connected to the NOFI dock. Several fishermen rent spots for longer periods, but there is plenty of space. There is some swell from the sea outside the breakwater.
The docks have electricity, but no water. Water can be filled from a hose at the fuel dock. There is waste disposal on land. At the dock, there is a posted phone number for the Welfare Station for Fishermen (Sjøkanten rental). Here, it is possible to access a washing machine, dryer, shower, TV, and kitchen.
Within the inner breakwater, there is a floating dock. Here, the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue has a lifeboat station. There are several spots at this dock, but most are probably occupied by boats from the local fishing fleet. On the quay right above the lifeboat, it is possible to buy fuel. Card machine.

Easy sailing. There are many guest berths in the second basin to starboard. Mostly side berths, but also some berths with poles. The harbor is well protected from most wind directions. There is no swell in the harbor. There is high activity from the many fishing boats that are based here.
Right by the harbor, there is a good equipment store for boats and fishermen.
Several good fishmongers on the pier. Short walking distance to the town.

There are three harbors in Dragør. Furthest south is a marina with limited depth, suitable for local pleasure boats. R/G sign. The middle harbor is for service and fueling. A few guest spots. The northern harbor has good depth and guest spots on the port side, right by the harbor office. Mooring bows-to or stern-to the pier with mooring lines. Also many spots to the starboard when you enter the harbor. Here, there are piles and slightly varying depths. The entrance to these two harbors is well marked with red and green buoys. Reasonable prices. Electricity is paid based on consumption.
Some airplane noise from Kastrup, depending on which runway is in use.
The old town is right by the harbor and is particularly charming. Alleys and narrow streets through old buildings. A gem.

Well-marked entrance. The harbour was upgraded a few years ago. Excellent floating piers with long, good outriggers. There are also several side-by-side berths closest to the quay. Wooden front against concrete. On the starboard side, there are buoys where you moor bow towards the pier and stern towards the buoy. During the high season, the harbour master is active and shows both the place and helps with mooring.
Many restaurants by the pier. Great cold bathhouse with sauna. Swimming pier. Very nice sandy beach south of the harbour. Free bicycle rental to get into town for shopping. Nice walking and cycling terrain with paths and small roads.
It is one kilometer to the town and the ICA store. The town has few shops. Greater selection in Falsterbo.

It is possible to find shelter from most winds. Some swell in the southern part of the harbour in strong southerly winds. Good holding ground for anchoring.

Scenic area and a very well-protected harbor.
There is plenty of room to swing at anchor at a depth of 7-9 meters in the innermost bay, but you must cross a fairly shallow threshold marked with two meters on the chart to get there. At low tide, you must be cautious.
Sand bottom with good holding ground.

Very scenic area. Previously, the island was a habitat for muskoxen.
The bay is shallow, assuming that it’s okay to pull a dinghy up on land.
Recommended approach from the west. There is a floating dock there that belongs to Tromsø Boat Association. They state that the largest boat size that can dock is 35 feet. The floating dock is not connected to the land.
Anchoring in the bay is possible from 8-2 meters, but the holding ground is not particularly good. However, the bay is well sheltered and there is no current in the bay.

A harbor that is being invested in.
Easy approach. The breakwater is prepared for lights, but they are not installed.
The depth has been improved and it appears that all the shoals in the harbor shown on the chart have been removed. Mostly 4-5 meters depth. Landfills have also altered the terrain. The two guest piers have good depth right up to the shore.
The permanent spots are on floating docks that are locked with gates.
Many available spots on floating docks and quays planned for local fishing boats. There are no locked gates here.

Kirkenes has most of the services a small town normally offers. This is the start/stop point for the Hurtigruten and Kystruten round trip from Bergen. It is possible to use the café or restaurants on board when they are docked here.
Short distance to the airport with direct routes to Oslo several times daily.
This is the only dock Kirkenes harbor offers for guest boats. One must contact the harbor office (see their website) to get permission. Payment via posted QR code and Vipps. There is no electricity or water at the dock, but it is possible to fetch drinking water in cans from a tap on the wall of the blue house above the dock. The gate to the dock is locked by the fire department at night. Contact the harbor watch to have the door unlocked. The number is on the gate.
The approach is simple and has good depth. There can be some current along the shore. Northern and eastern winds quickly bring some waves. This is a harbor one does not stay in for long. With moderate winds from the north and east, one should find a place in the small boat harbor inside Presteøya, further east. It should be possible to anchor there.
