Easy access and large bay with lots of room to anchor.
Sandy seabed all around, so holding is good. Anchoring depth 3-6 meters.
The Sanday grounds are really low, so there is no protection from winds.

Lot's of seals around.

Good shelter from westerly winds.
Good holding in sandy seabed and about 8-9 meters of depth.
Marine farm in the bay, but plenty of room to anchor south of it.

Good sandy bottom to anchor at 3-5 meters depth.
Surrounding lands to south and southwest are not that high, so they offer only a little of protection from winds.

Cantic head lighthouse is close by.

I waited here for a weather window to go around the Cape Wrath (NW corner of Scotland Mainland).

Really well protected bay from all directions and nice views as it is surrounded by about 60-100 meters high hills (sorry, no pictures).
Not recommended to navicate in a poor visibility or night because there is lots of fish and mussel farms on the way in, with no lights.
Anchoring depth 6-9 meters, but beware of the over 4 meters of tidal change.
Good holding in muddy sand.

Good shelter from southerly winds.
Good place to wait for the right tides to pass the Kyle Rhea.
Easy to navigate and lots of space to anchor in 3-7 meters of depth (low tide).
Grocery store and fuel station right at the shore.

Easy entry, but lots of private mooring buoys.
There is some room in the west side of the bay for anchoring. 6-8 meters of water on low tide, but the difference can be more than 5 meters to high tide.
Sand bottom, but with some weed and/or kelp.
The old harbour in the south end is a nice place to visit with dingy. There is hotel, restaurant, pub, Caelic Whisky distillery and a art gallery.
About 1,5 kilometers of walk to a small grocery store.

Five large yellow buoys.
Owners of the buoys is the Duisdale house hotel. Price for overnight is around 15 pounds, but it can be free of charge if you dine at the hotel.
Very exposed to N, NE, E and SE winds.
There might be room to also anchor, but lots of kelp in the bottom.

Really nice little town and good marina with floating dock (Pontoon). They also have numerous guest bouys rated at different boat weights. Electricity and water included in the price, but showers and laundry paid separately with coins.
There is also a small boat supply store in the marina building.

Nice views and beautiful little village on the shore. There are grocery stores, bakery and suprisingly many cafes/restaurants/bars.

Good beach for swimming and relaxing. Couple of public toilets and a changing room near the beach.

Good protection from northerly winds, but there will likely be swell. Probably due to the currents south of the bay.

Anchor holding is good in a sandy seabed.

When going shore with dingy, be careful of couple of uncharted rocks on the way in. There are not many, but you can still hit them with your outboard. They will be visible on low tide.

Easy entry. There was three buys for local fishing boats, but there is plenty of room to anchor around them.
Good protection from northern winds, except directly from the sandbar direction. No waves come over the sand bar though.
West and southwest winds may bring swell in the bay from Atlantic.
The Island itself is really beautiful. There is couple of cafeterias, a pub, a post office with suprisingly good selection of groceries and also a small family run gin distillery.
There is also a garbage bin for visiting yachts. You find it by walking towards the village from the sand bar for about 100 meters.

Easy entry, but the end of the bay is full of local mooring buys. So you need to anchor a bit further out.

Electricity, water, toilets and showers are included to the harbour fee (September 2024 the fee was about 37€ for 35 feet sailboat), but laundry machines must be paid separately.

Easy access and well holding sandy bottom, but you may find some weed.
Camariñas is close by and easy to access by a dingy.

Easy access, but you should contact the marina (Club nautico de Camariñas) before entering. The personnell was very friendly and helpful.
September 2024 the fee was 20€ for 35 feet sailboat, including electricity, water and toilets/shower.
Only diesel available and only in the center pontoon.
Camariñas is a lovely little fishing village with lots of restaurants.
Small selection of boat supplies can be found at a store called Ferreteria Ricardo.

On the north part of the bay is a wide marine farm that blocks almost the entire bay. There is still space to enter it on either side. More space on the west side.

Good shelter from southerly winds and lots of space to anchor. Sand bottom with some weed, good holding. Swell, if wind is between W to N.
Watch out for old small buoys marking swimming area closer to beach, some are barely visible.
Nice beaches all around.
The Marina Muxia is about 1 NM away.

Entering the marina is easy. Just be aware of some fishing pod buoys when approaching. Contact the marina office before arrival and they will come to show your berth and help you to tie up. Very friendly and english speaking staff. (VHF channel 9, call "Marina Muros", more info on muport.es)
Pontoons are in good condition and there is plenty of water and shore power outlets.

Note, that the fuel dock is not self service and not open 24/7. It is on the breakwater, so it can be uncomfortably high on low tide.

There was some swell on the marina even with westerly winds, but it is quite well protected from every direction.

The Muros village is very nice with old buildings and restaurants close to the shore.
Grocery store "Gadis" is close to marina and it has good selection.
Some of the many hardware stores has small selection of equipment for boats, fishing and diving.

On October 2024 the price for 35 feet boat was 21€/night (all services included), and if you stay 4 or more night's, you will get 20% discount (117,60€/week).

Not recommended to navigate in dark or in poor visibility. Lots of marine farms and buoys for local boats on the way in, big and small.
Plenty of space in front of the beach, when you get there. I went from east and south of all the marine farms (marked in charts).
Couple of charted rocks to be aware of, too.
4-7 meters depth with well holding sand.
Grocery stores and small villages close by.

I waited here a storm go by with southerly winds of 40+ knots. It was mostly less than 20 knots in the bay. Some heavier gusts came through now and then. Very little swell.

Seabed is mostly sand. 5-7 meters deep, but there are couple of shallow spot in the end of the bay. Those are marked on charts.
There can be a lots of fishing equipment on the bay, so be careful.

Entrance to the bay is only about 2.5 meters deep at sand bar, but safe track is well marked.
There are some guest berths in the marina.
One Guest berth is marked on the floating dock, but maximum depth is reported to be 1,7 meters.
You can also tie up to the high concrete pier which is deeper. It is fendered by big tires.
The end of the Bay is well suitable for anchoring with good holding and 6-7 meters of water. There is reported to be old moorings in the bay, meaning that it can be foul in some places.

Easy entry and easy anchoring on about 6 meters of water on low tide. Just beware the west side of the bay just before the marked anchorage. There might be rocky bottom.
Otherwise exellent hold on sand seabed.
It gets shallower very slowly as you proceed south, so you can anchor also closer to the shore.

NOT a place to be on northerly winds.

Lots of seabirds in the area, including puffins. You may also spot seals and dolphins. Views from the cliffs to the west are spectacular.

Easy entry and anchoring. Seabed is sand and gets shallow slowly when approaching the end of the bay. The marked location has about 4 meters of water on low tide.

Anchorage is surrounded with beautiful cliffs with small caves on the water level. There is lots of seabirds. You may also spot seals and dolphins.

It is hard to access land from this bay due to the steep cliffs.
