Our third visit to this beautiful anchorage. The anchor held all night and then in the morning it began to drag. After six attempts I gave up and went elsewhere. I was anchored with 5x the depth on a Spade Anchor.

Fairly simple approach using Navionics. Little more than 2m in entrance and some places in harbour.
Guests can look for green finger berths or berth alongside the breakwater with water and electricity.
Plenty of space 15th August. 180 Danish Kroner including electricity, showers and washing machine.

Easy entrance . Well sheltered in a Northerly F7/8 . Unless you are less than 10 metres I wouldn't attempt the guest pontoon .

Entry is through a lock except when the double HW occurs and then it is freeflow.
Visitors berth on finger pontoons as directed by the Harbour Staff.
It is a very popular Harbour and it is a good idea to book in advance.
There is a well stocked Chandlery, boatyard with lift out and a popular restaurant.

Very busy in season . Advisable to book early on the Premier Marina website.
Good place to moor if you wish to visit HMS Victory and the other iconic warships.
A pedestrian ferry takes you across the harbour to Portsmouth.

Be very careful on the ebb tide. The tide sluices through the pontoons. For a first visit, I would recomend arriving at slack water.
This is an ideal marina if you wish to visit Osborne House, the former Palace of Queen Victoria .
The Marina is now owned by Premier and gets extremely busy in the summer season. It is advisable to book in advance on the Premier Marinas website.

A very popular anchorage with good holding. There are also a number of visitor buoys.
Pay careful attention to the chart at all times.

Extremely narrow entrance channel . I noticed that the local yachts took the unmarked deeper channel to the north.
The Quay is well built with new timbers and mooring bollards. Fenders need to be fairly high and as the bollards are few and far between long warps are needed as springs. At the Northern end of the Quay there was 4 metres of water. The only issue with this end is that the anglers come down in the evening to fish from the adjacent pontoon.
It is well protected from East through South to North West. Not sure that I would like to be here in a Northly or North Easterly blow above 20 knots. The Quay is very high. In those circumstances there are other options in this natural harbour.
There is a flushing toilet ashore and a cafe within walking district. It looks as though it would be possible to fill up water containers in the toilet.

The approach to this marina means crossing the notorious Chichester Bar . In onshore winds of Force 6 or over one would be advised to divert to Portsmouth Harbour.
For a first visit I would advise crossing the bar at HW minus 3 hours. You would then be able to carry the flood all the way up to the Marina.
Entry into the Marina involves using a lock. It is advisable to book a place on the Premier Marina website before entry.
It is a very scenic Marina with some interesting walks and lots of activities to engage young children.

This is a very popular anchorage in the summer . It is a good place to stop for lunch. In settled weather it is a nice nightime anchorage.

1. Entry in SE 14 knots was interesting. Bottom shoaled quickly. Entrance was very disturbed.

2. Once inside there was plenty of space to prepare fenders and warps.

3. Plenty of spaces 6th August.

4. Very quiet

5. Good facilities

6. Alongside, box and finger berths.

The brand new pedestrian bridge opens on demand between 0800 and 2000. Either stop at the fuel berth to arrange opening or call on the telephone. The bridge is operated by Harbour staff who also operate the fuel pontoon so be prepared to wait. The Harbour staff wear red T shirts.
The Y booms in the inner harbour are on the port side after the bridge.
The electricity posts are few and far between.
There is a lot of wash from the local Birmingham Navy who don't appear to follow the speed restrictions.
300 SEK a night for 11metres 50 SEK for electric and laundry.
