We arrived with a sailboat with a 2m draft. No problem docking to a buoy on the inside of the pier. It's significantly deep on the inside of the pier. If you dock alongside on the outside, you might experience some swell.
Beautiful place!
Great walking paths. At the pier to the south, there is a cafe, but we found this pier cozier and quieter. You can stay for free for 5 days, but there is no electricity or water available here. There are toilets and a place to dispose of garbage.

The bay looks larger in the picture than it is in reality. Many come in for a swim but leave in the evening. Since there are several harbors nearby, many boats pass by to the northeast of the bay. There is some wake, but it's still ok. Nice small rock slabs to approach by boat or by swimming. You can dispose of garbage on the island. Cozy little bay. Three ice cream boats came by during the day.

We had some good days here. Came here due to strong winds. Mooring was a bit difficult as it was not obvious where we should dock, and the spots with poles were not wide enough for us, plus there were some waves in the harbor, at the narrow entrance. We eventually found a side mooring a bit further in, which worked excellently. Wednesdays are market/flea market days. Close to the village and plenty of restaurants. Grocery store is in the harbor. Everything we needed was here but swimming was a bit far unless you wanted to swim from the small dock in the marina. We were satisfied with our 3 nights here.

We often return here. Relaxed, good facilities, and a good harbor. There is always space when we come, though we prefer to avoid the peak weeks during the high season. Grocery store, restaurants, fish shop, and a free bus to other places on the island. A fantastic beach right by the harbor. Great walk along the beaches. Barbecues and tables are available near where you moor. Simply super nice!

Anchoring bay/lagoon with good anchoring conditions. Calm and nice. No waves or wakes here. Low sandbanks surround the bay, making for good anchoring. Room for very many boats. Lacks clear water/sandy bottom. You can't see the bottom here as eelgrass grows throughout the bay. The harbor has a small pub that serves simple food and ice cream. Bicycle rentals are available. We were super happy with 2 windless nights, 25 degrees, and brilliant sunshine here :) ☀️

We anchored in the northern part of the bay for one night, right next to the skerries. The boat rolled from the moment we arrived until we left. Despite very calm winds, it continued throughout the night. Most of the other boats at anchor didn't seem to roll at all, only the one closest to us. Extremely annoying! It must have been something special with the currents and the bottom right there.

Large bay with many houses and piers on both sides. Would assume that all piers and buoys are private. The anchor held without problems at a depth of 5m a bit inside the bay. Calm and quiet. When we were here, there was hardly any wind and the sun shone from a clear blue sky. Very pleasant overnight bay. At least under those conditions.

Easy approach. Good anchorage. Quite high cliffs around. Note that there are two cables in the area. The proximity to Strömstad is great if you have a dinghy with you. There is also a private buoy in the area for 100SEK/night (2025).

We return here every year, sometimes several times. There are excellent hiking trails, restaurants, ice cream cafes, a sauna for rent, several swimming spots, a shop, and diesel. A ferry runs between Tjörn/Åstol and Instön. There can be some waves in the harbor from time to time. I can highly recommend this beautiful car-free island.

Helt ok ställe att ligga över natt. Här har vi alltid haft bra fäste för ankar. Fint om man vill vandra runt på Björkö. Annars finns inget särskilt att utforska här. Några Sxk bojar finns att förtöja vid.Det går in en hel del svall från båttrafiken utanför.

Watch out for shallow waters when entering the small bay at Stensholmen. There are also several shallows inside the bay. We docked alongside with a sailboat that has a draft of 2m. It was a bit tricky to get it right because the rock juts out slightly at the water's edge. You need a couple of sturdy fenders to keep a bit of distance from the rock, then you're good. We stayed here for a day when the wind was only 0-4m/s. Overall, it was very quiet with traffic in the area, so there were no incoming wakes from other boats.

The anchor held on the first attempt. We have a chain and let out quite a lot due to a previous comment. It is fairly open to winds from all directions due to the flat landscape. Decent protection from north/northwest wind. Nice. Beautiful sandy beach.

Anchoring. Good hold at a depth of 3.5 meters. Sandy bottom. We never went ashore. The beach looked rocky. However, there were some people there. It seems possible to walk up to the top of the high hill. Don't know how the conditions are to get in with a dinghy right there. Not much swell or wave despite it being fairly open into the "bay".
Sure, it moves a bit but it's okay.
