Vestrø Havn har en stor, fin gjestehavn med hyggelig og hjelsom havnebetjening. Det er også en liten fiskerihavn her, og man kan ofte få kjøpt fersk fisk og jomfruhummer/kreps fra fiskebåtene når de kommer inn på morgenen. Det er godt tilrettelagt for båtturister med store fine servicebygg med oppholdsrom, kjøkken, toaletter/dusjer, vaskemaskiner/tørketrommel samt grillplasser utendørs.

Farvannet utenfor havnen er grundt og innseilingen til havnen går i en oppmudret renne med overettmerker på land. Innseilingen kan være utfordrende i sterk vind, særlig fra vestlig og nordlig retning. Selve havnen er godt beskyttet av moloer.

Det er nære vei til kolonialbutikk, bakeri og spisesteder. Det er lekeplass for småbarn og fin, men langgrunn sandstrand noen hundre meter fra havnen. Læsø er en forholdsvis stor øy med mye interedsant å se og gjøre. Man kan leie sykkel eller ta bussen til «hovedstaden»Byrum eller Østerby Havn som ligger helt øst på øyen. Bussen er gratis og korresponderer mef fergen til/fra Frederikshavn på fastlandet.

Øst i havnen er det slipp/bedding med mekanisk verksted samt en utsettingsrampe for småbåter. Slippen/beddinge (Væsterø Smedje og Bedding) tar opp båter fra ca. 20/25 fot opp til store skøyter på 30-40 tonn til en overkommelig pris og god sevice.
