Navigation and Maritime Conditions: There are two guest piers at Sommarøy located on either side of the Hillesøy Bridge. On the south side, there is no electricity or water, and it can be challenging to moor in strong winds due to the narrow space. The floating dock on the north side has a depth ranging from 3.6m at the northernmost point to approximately 1.5m near the bridge. There is a tidal current of up to 2 knots through the strait. Only one 16A outlet for electricity is available, with the possibility of water refilling. A campsite located right by the harbor has new and nice sanitary facilities with showers, laundry, and toilets.

Approach and maritime conditions: Husøy is located north on Senja in one of many fjord arms.
Mooring: Guest dock in available berths with 12-meter outriggers or alongside at the end of the dock. Solid docks and spacious berths with up to 8 meters width.
The area: Local shop with a good selection.

Approach and maritime conditions: Good depth (4m), on some maps there's a marked shallow area on the inside of the dock, but it has been removed.
Mooring: Solid floating dock. Depth 4m. The outside of the dock facing the inlet is slightly exposed to waves from boat traffic.
The area: Nice hike to Bolgatind which offers a good view of the entire area. Some scrambling, but ropes and stairs have been placed in difficult parts.

Docking: Municipal harbor with several good fixed quays with wooden deck at the front, 4-5m depth. There is also a floating dock where one can get permission to lie in vacant spots. The floating dock has a depth of about 2.5m.
The area: The local store has a good selection of groceries as well as a cozy cafe with good cakes and simple food service.

Moorage: Good floating dock that is well sheltered at the innermost part of the bay. The approach to the inner part of the harbor is narrow and can be challenging for larger boats when it is windy. It is shallow in the area just before the floating dock 1.7m, but along the dock, there is about 2.1m depth.
There is also a solid fixed pier with a good wooden front against the breakwater in the outer harbor, depth approximately 4m.

Mooring: Good floating dock for guests with a length of 13m, mooring alongside or in berths/spreaders facing north. Places facing south are private. There is good depth (8m) throughout the harbor. There is also good anchorage at about 8m in the strait. Exposed harbor in strong winds from the north and south.

Approach and maritime conditions: Wind often blows across the docks, which can be challenging for larger boats as it is a bit tight between the docks. Bolga Brygge is better for larger boats (over 40 feet)
The area: A hike to Bolgatind is recommended.

Docking: Approximately 30m of guest dock on the northern side of the floating dock. There is electricity available, but no water (2021). Water is available at the guest dock located at the innermost part of the eastern bay.

Docking: Floating dock with guest spots alongside on the NW side and at the end of the floating dock. This guest harbor is well protected in bad weather. Beware of the shallow area towards land NW of the floating dock. Good depth along the entire floating dock.

Mooring: Good guest harbour, side-to with space for 3-4 boats. Good depth +4m along the entire guest pier.
The Area: Local shop and pub right by the harbour. Water and electricity on the pier. Waste disposal at the express boat quay right by the guest pier. The express boat runs a few times daily, but it causes little to no disturbance if you are moored at the guest quay, low speed so minimal waves.

12m floating dock with a good depth of 4-5m. Be aware of chains in front of the dock if you have a sailboat, about 2m depth slanting down and 90 degrees out to both sides! If you keep your distance and approach the dock at an angle when mooring, this is not a problem, but be cautious.

Mooring: New floating dock with charging for electric boats. Best suited for smaller boats. In the center of Henningsvær.

Approach and maritime conditions: Ersfjord is located on the west side of Senja.
Mooring: The Norwegian Coastal Administration and the municipality have set up a new floating dock in the spring of 2021, and there are guest places for 7m on both sides of the dock. The dock has power pedestals and water, but this was not connected when we were there on July 5, 2021. For larger boats, you can lie alongside if fixed places are not in use, or you can drop anchor and secure the stern to the dock. It is a bit tight to anchor in the bay, but possible in good weather. There is a sand ridge at the entrance with approximately 3m depth. Close to the dock, the depth is 5m. There is a shallow area inside the harbor near the breakwater, marked with an iron stake; between this and the breakwater, there are large stones, so avoid navigating here!
The area: Ersfjorden has a fine sandy beach of about 1km, which is very popular among tourists, and it also features the famous golden toilet. It is an excellent place for children to swim as it is shallow.

Approach and maritime conditions: Vengsøya has a municipal floating dock, and you can access electricity if you buy a payment card at the local shop. There is also water at the dock, but the hose was defective. Local fishermen also use the dock, so you may have to moor on the outside of another boat. There's a nice mountain hike to the top that starts right by the harbor. There's also a private floating dock associated with the fish reception and we were granted permission to use it.
Mooring: Public quay
The area: Summit hike
