Very beautiful bay. Even with a northeast wind at 15 knots it's calm, and even more so after the wind shift.
The anchoring depth is 7-9m, the anchor holds very well in the clay bottom.

There is also a rear part that is supposed to be shallower.
The passage is indicated with a depth of 2m, which is very tight for us.
We did not risk it, as we had the wind from astern
But it would certainly be a perfect anchorage for wind from all directions.

The mooring lines on the west side of the jetty should not be used, ferries dock there.
This happens in the evening and in the morning, but apparently not daily. Pay attention to notices on the jetty.

The buoys are very close to the jetty, so boats of around 9 meters or more should prepare the midship cleat.
We passed through the southern passage with 1.9m depth, which was tight but doable and beautiful.
The northern access is not a problem at all.

What disappointed us is the overall condition of the facility.
The whole facility is aging and there is a persistent odor around the disposal area and toilets.
The cleanliness of the toilet in the morning also left much to be desired, but that could be due to the previous user.
However, improvements are expected to be made.

There are no showers, even though they are listed in the well-known harbor guide.
There are four electrical outlets by the toilet facilities where one boat was drawing power. This probably needs to be inquired about at the harbor.

Water can be obtained at the gas station for a fee.
Fortunately, there is a place to wash dishes (drinking water from there also for a fee).

The store is well equipped, so you can easily stock up on necessary supplies.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the harbor fee is also paid there.
Very pleasing are the different rates: 3 hours are free, an overnight stay costs only 250 Swedish Krona.

The location is actually perfect. The store is in top shape, the gas station has diesel and gasoline and a friendly attendant.
If the projects can be implemented and one or two things get a bit of a fresh touch, this place is an absolute gem.

The approach is easy, just be sure to watch out for the ferries, which are quite rare.
At the pier, there is a green marker; to the left of it, a red sea mark indicates the entrance.

The buoys, docks, and rings are in good condition.
There are only two columns with electricity (6A). From berth 9, for example, a 10m power cable barely reaches the bow, but berth 10 is fine.

For the buoys, note that always 2 boats are moored to one buoy. These are labeled, though not always clearly visible (e.g., 9 and 10).
It's only fair not to take an entire buoy for your boat alone.

Booking is done via Dockspot, and codes for the shower and WC are immediately provided.
There is one toilet each for ladies and gentlemen, and a single shower.
These facilities are very old but clean-a renovation would be nice, but I've seen worse at more expensive locations.
They are somewhat far from the buoy places.

Freshwater is not at the dock but also near the toilets.

The harbor has some very nice shops, likewise in the surrounding area.
If you go towards the northern part of the harbor, you'll find more nice shops and restaurants.
You can also take a pleasant walk, for example, to the Albert Engström Atelier with a beautiful beach (about 15-20 minutes) or much further.

Bonus: By showing your booking confirmation, you should be able to ride the ferry to Eckerö for free.

The approach from the north seems easy, but caution is advised in the harbor as there are shallows and a wreck (check the nautical chart).

With northwesterly winds, it is probably not very pleasant.

We docked at the pier with the buoys in the north.
It is easy to navigate, deep enough, and the buoys are far enough back for a 35-foot boat.

The facilities are in order.
The toilets are also accessible to the public. They are generally clean, although previous users sometimes leave them untidy.
The showers are accessible with a code in the toilets on the south side.

The pier gently rocks occasionally when passenger ferries arrive, which happens quite often in summer. It didn't bother us, and after 10:30 PM, I didn't notice any more ferries. Then it was only noisy from a neighboring boat.

The island is fantastic. There are several restaurants, artisan shops, and in the south, people are diving into the water. There is also a children's playground.

It's worth visiting just for the food, costing 100 SEK for the day fee. An overnight stay costs 300 SEK.
During the day, there were always some available spots, and after 8 PM, there were even more, despite the peak holiday season.

The staff is friendly and helpful.

There is also another harbor with access from the east.
There is no electricity there, and depending on the passing ships, it may not be any quieter.
There are two floating pontoons, and the entrance is to the north, right by the restaurant.

I can only confirm that the harbour is beautiful.

We stayed for several days; the present harbourmaster is, as described, extremely friendly and helpful!

The toilets and showers right by the harbour are very clean.

The washing machine and dryer are a few minutes away; usage must be booked in advance with the harbourmaster.

The restaurant offers very fine dining at an upscale level, and the prices were actually quite good for that - the food anyway. A friendly and very helpful crew here as well - the same goes for the ice cream stand next door, which presumably belongs to them.

For children, there is a fenced playground with tables, benches, and sun umbrellas. There is also plenty of toys available for free use.

Then there are bicycles, kayaks, books... I am not even sure if we saw everything.

And for a little walk, the place is also dreamy.

Only a shop is missing. However, meat (and I believe eggs) can be ordered. The harbourmaster is happy to provide information.

This is a club island.

No one was there when we visited, and it was wonderfully quiet.

There are toilets in the woods, a beautiful beach, and there is indeed water available via a hand pump, but the club offers no quality guarantee.

So, it is certainly a good idea to bring supplies in general.

The sauna is reserved for the club.

For us, a dream island, can only recommend it!

We were not quite sure when we entered the harbor Löckholmen whether it was equipped with mooring lines for everyone or just for members. Apparently, it is meant for everyone as I only saw the harbor master upon my return from Sandhamn.

We then moored outside at the jetty with the buoys, which was flawless.

The surroundings on Löckholmen are very beautiful, there are several spots there.
If you go further north when entering, pay attention to the depth (1.9 meters according to the harbor master, so your draft should be less).

There is a free shuttle from Sandhamn to Löckholmen every hour on the hour (arrival about +5 minutes), continuing to Telegrafenholmen (+10 minutes), and then back to Sandhamn.
Currently during the week from 8 AM to 10 PM. On weekends, the shuttle runs later.

The place is definitely quieter than Sandhamn itself.
And we also like it better. We only heard about Sandhamn, which is why we came here.
If you're not looking for a party, Löckholmen is surely better (at our spot you can still hear the music from Sandhamn though).

A very beautiful bay to spend a night.
We were anchored at the jetty, and it held very well in the muddy bottom.

In the evening, a boat came and a mooring fee of 150 crowns was due, which I think is fair.

As mentioned, there are dry toilets and also a collection point up on the rock.

Nice, small harbor with a jetty.
In the inner area, there are 5 buoys for mooring.
Apparently, the other spots have ground moorings. I found this out later and did not verify it.

No water or electricity at the jetty.
However, the restaurant offers to charge mobile devices.
Drinking water can also be refilled there.

Showers and toilets are in the youth hostel right behind the restaurant. Old but clean, and that's enough.
The toilets in the restaurant can also be used during opening hours.

The staff is very friendly and attentive, the surroundings are beautiful, but we didn't see much more.
ICA is just under half an hour away, the path along the road is not particularly great, but it does have some traffic. However, it's absolutely doable.

The island seems beautiful, and there are surely many lovely paths to explore this area as well.

The restaurant at the harbor or the facility with a hotel, bakery, and small shop right behind it round off the place and make Blidö a stop that is also worth it.

The pontoon offers an incredible variety of base mooring lines, everything looks good.
When we stayed inside the facility, it was quite calm, even when the wind shifted from south to east or north.

However, on June 24, 2026, there was no electricity and water at the pontoon. The electrician was called, but keeps postponing the appointment.
I recommend calling ahead in the summer of 2026 (restaurant / harbor office is linked here) and please feel free to comment here when everything is running again.

Otherwise, a beautiful place with a great restaurant.
You can also stretch your legs, but that's about it.

We had many guests who came to the restaurant in the evening and were gone the next morning.

The sanitary facilities are good and clean, and there is also waste disposal available.

We were there on a Saturday during the peak season, directly next to the harbour master's building and stayed very calmly with a strong northwesterly bise wind.
I would also recommend going there at that time only with a prior reservation, some already had to leave the harbour by noon.

The sanitary facilities such as showers and toilets were good and clean. I cannot understand how others complain about the toilets and showers, we have seen much worse elsewhere.

In the laundry room, 3 out of 5 machines were in operation, unfortunately, the dryer was not. Clothes drying racks were available, but the air was already so humid that nothing dried anymore.
But even here, it's alright, just perhaps somewhat cluttered.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.
We did not experience Gröna Lund or other things at this place, we were probably very well shielded and most things are closed anyway by 10 PM.

The access is a bit narrow in strong winds if it's your first time there, but it works if everyone is considerate.

The surroundings are amazing anyway, with many restaurants, museums, and attractions located directly by the harbour. That's probably why most people come already on Fridays and stay for 2-3 days.
The walk to the ICA supermarket is about 15 minutes and is easy to manage.

I can only add a little to what has been written:
In July 2026, the construction work on the breakwater directly at the harbor was completed, but further ahead they are still working on it.
The power outlets in the harbor on the outer breakwater are limited. Electricity is booked and charged via an app (which we didn't use).

Otherwise, as already mentioned, it's a great harbor with clean facilities and very helpful harbor staff.
There is a small shopping street and at least one grocery store within walking distance.
A walk or a trip to the Vaxholm Fortress is also worthwhile.

Absolutely recommended if you don't just want to sit on the boat.

The surroundings in the harbor are wonderful! It feels like being in a small pond.
The hotel above offers a lot of amenities, but they are certainly more interesting for adults than for children. However, for one night, it can definitely be interesting for children as well.

The pier is great and mooring is done at a stern buoy.
These are relatively far away, so keep a long line ready.

Unfortunately, we only found out at the hotel that the entire hotel as well as the docking area were reserved for a company. And even though the harbor was completely empty, we had to leave again.
Definitely check ahead on Dockspot (15 spots). In hindsight, it was very annoying, and the days were not completely blocked off; they simply could not be selected.

The harbor is relatively easy to approach.
The harbor master from the KSSS waved to us from a distance and assigned us a spot.
All staff were very helpful and friendly.

The guest berths are apparently quite new with mooring lines, but I do not know if guests might be directed to other places with buoys. In any case, be prepared for both.
The berths were very quiet.

The sanitary facilities were clean and in good condition.

The restaurant on the pier offers very delicious food and friendly service.

The harbor is not spectacular, but the harbor master’s office is very friendly and easily reachable via the provided contact number.
The sanitary facilities are very clean and in good condition.

In addition to the activities already described, there is a playground for children above the harbor.
The village is very beautiful and it may be well worth extending your stay by a day.

Preliminary note: We didn't dock here, but we visited the small 'village' on foot. Therefore, there is no evaluation of the maritime conditions.

It is very nice here, with various establishments right at the dock.
In a quarter of an hour, you can reach the guest harbor East or the pedestrian zone, but also the western harbor, for example to the sailing ship Pommern or the Maritime Museum, is only a half-hour walk. On the way, you cross a hill with a magnificent view.

There is also a mini train that is supposed to stop there, which we didn't use either.

Very interesting harbor. One jetty has Y-arms that are walkable; most boats will likely need to moor at the center cleat here. The berths are very good.
Those who want to moor at the bow/stern should use the piles, which are also impeccable and easy to approach.

The buoys outside (to the north) seem very far out, so have long lines ready.

Everything is very clean and very well organized.
A lot has already been written about the rest, and I can only agree.

It’s about a 30-minute walk to the harbor in the west with the maritime museum and the “Pommern” ship- depending on the route you take.

A stay of two or three nights is worthwhile.

The place is simply gorgeous and the approach is very easy thanks to the good buoyage.
The pontoons make a good impression, electricity was available, water is currently not available at the pontoon.

An assessment as of June 10, 2026, would not be fair.
Because a new, very friendly and helpful couple has just taken over the harbour.
They were working on the pontoons. Fuel is supposed to be available again in two weeks. They apologized for the state of the toilet and shower, which is not enticing.


Since it was still the absolute off-season, the pizzeria on the beach was only open on Saturday and Sunday.
The harbour master will also reopen the kiosk on the pier.
The shop currently seems to be closed and the restaurant also seems to be closing soon. Unfortunately, we could no longer ask the new harbour master what the future plans are.

As mentioned, they are working on it and should be given a chance. If we come close again, we would certainly visit again. It would be even better if someone else could write an even more positive report here in a few weeks.

The piers are good, as already described, partially with mooring (via Dockspot) and buoys.
The harbor personnel is friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, there are somewhat few sockets, not sufficient for everyone in my opinion.
Additionally, some are capable of not using the nearest pillar. So, it makes sense to have an additional 10-15 meters of cable with you. We could solve this with other helpful sailors.

There is no water at the pier, only at a water tap by the access to the piers.

Two showers and two toilets in the harbor building, others somewhat distributed further on the grounds.

There are kayaks available for rent, as already mentioned, beautiful walks or a large play area.

The store's selection is really limited. Milk, butter, spaghetti, a few vegetables… the selection is not large, but if you know it, it's not a problem, enough to stock up on the essentials.

There are various restaurants and offers.
We were at the Värdshuset a bit further up from the harbor. I can only recommend it, the food was simply fantastic. You certainly won't starve on Grinda.

The approach is simple. There are three buoys, which should be double occupied.
With buoys and dock, there is space for about 10 boats; then the electricity should be sufficient.

Most of the buoys are very far in the back. I recommend having the longest line ready.
The dock is at bow height for many boats, which allows for easy boarding and disembarking.
Motorboats occasionally pass behind the docked boats, causing unnecessary waves.
Therefore, it is better to moor the boat a bit away from the dock and secure the buoy line well.
At the dock, tie up to the posts.

Showers and toilets are located at the youth hostel and restaurant above.
You can also pay the harbor fee there if you don't have Swish.
Besides the restaurant, there is also a café; both seem to be related and offer friendly service.

Kyrkgårdsön is a former cholera and later fortress island.
You can explore both outdoors on your own, as everything is within a short distance.
The fortress also offers a guided tour, which can also be booked at the restaurant.

Apparently, the island is also popular with day tourists, so mostly motorboats come and go.

Utö is extremely versatile. Right at the harbor, there are local establishments, a bike rental, small snack stands (opening around July 14), and within good walking distance to the southwest, there is an ICA, a delightful bakery.

Additionally, Utö also offers a children's playground, tennis court, mini-golf, outdoor fitness...

Not to forget the beautiful paths through nature, one day is not enough.

The sanitary facilities are orderly and clean.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Utö is also an excursion island; during the off-season there is plenty of space, but even in less favorable weather, many day-trippers and weekenders come.

The water depth must be considered when mooring; for us, there was around 2.2m at the dock left and right of the ferry dock.

With a westerly wind, entering the harbor is no problem.
With a Bise wind blowing from the northeast and waves, the entrance may seem narrow, but it’s no problem even for wider boats. The water calms down quickly once you’re in the entrance.
Immediately after the entrance, at the head pier, there are guest berths for side-mooring.
Available berths (with a mooring post) are marked with a green sign.
Check in at the Hanfenbüro near the restaurant.

The restaurant “Conny's Hafenbeitzli” is very nice, and the food is delicious.
In the summer, there's also a bar right next to it at the harbor.
Behind the harbor, there's a store where you can find everything you need for your vacation, and there are more shops across the street.

Wonderful place to moor to rocks, it is calm and protected. We did this for the first time.
We were at the island of Skötkobben, which also has two rings to the north.
Two boats could fit in between. But in the eastern part, there is a rock underwater at about 1.4 meters (estimated, not sounded)

Ideal for beginners if you aim for the middle, where there is 2.2 meters or more of water depth for a 35-foot sailboat.
In addition to the two rings, there is also a tree in the middle. We only secured briefly there and then tried out rock nails, which worked well.
