This is the municipal mooring. You have to anchor out, NOT lazylines. Only 5 places for visiting boats, so always full. Has power and water. Currently May 2025,they are not connected.

Lefkada is a lovely destination. It is a nice sized town, with a lot of yachts, charter and private, a marina, several chandlery stores, very many restaurants, and very many bars, all reasonably priced. It has 10 kg laundry service in the town.Cost 8 euro. Multiple car hire, scooter hire opportunities. Supermarkets, local bus service, seaside resort, museums, lots of historical significance to this town. The biggest drawback is that the availability at the municipal quay is tiny. There are charter and pontoons, approximately six, and these are available on Sunday night through to Thursday night, for just the price of a municipal morning. Power and Water are not available. There is a very high likelihood that you'll be able to get one of these moorings, but they are not available at the weekends because this is a changeover time for the flotilla charters.
I deducted two stars from the five because at weekends there is very little available municipal mooring.

Easy to get to. IonianSail have two pontoons and these are not available on Friday or Saturday nights. Because yacht changeover takes place on Saturdays and Sundays. Power and water is available only to Ionian sail charterboats.

Getting here is very easy and the entrances into the harbour are quite wide and never covered. The key side is a little confusing and seems to be set up for larger commercial traffic boats rather than yachts. I think this is quite a windy harbour and even on a calm day we were under the influence of a westerly breeze that was making us bounce up and down on the key side.

Entry to Mesolonghi is by a three kilometer canad channel that is well marked, but even though it is well marked, there are some shallow muddy areas on the east bank and it is easy enough to run aground onto soft mud. When you get into the inner harbor you have a choice between the marina or the harbor wall. The marina, I believe, is well serviced with water and electricity. The harbor wall does not have electric points. And there is just one water point that everybody has to use. Fuel is delivered in a tanker by order. There are four restaurants, very close to the harbor area. It is a walk of about half a kilometer to a kilometer to the centre of the town. There is a Lord Byron Museum, an archeological museum, and also a salt museum within walking distance of the harbor. There is a chandlery in the marina. The cost of birthing is cheap and the restaurants are also very good value. When we were there in May, most of the boats were moored side on to the harbor wall. I understand in the harbor they are trying to discourage people from anchoring in the middle.

Ormos Sivota is a well sheltered anchorage on the southern shores of the island of Levkas. It is surrounded on two sides by pretty high sheltering hill, and on one side to the southern side by a low sheltering hill.
It is tucked away and not visible until you are almost inside the harbor is itself. It is a very busy crowded anchorage and in high season is almost always full. A lot of boat and sail charter companies operate out of this harbor and most of them have their own pontoon. Several of the Tavernas also have their own pontoon. Each pontoon is marked by a flag at the very tip so that you know beforehand which pontoon belongs to whom. For the Tavernas pontoons, it's a good idea to ring in beforehand to book your spot on the pontoon. Well, populated boats are very welcome, as you might imagine. You are expected to eat in the restaurant that owns the pontoon that you berth that.
All the berths are well serviced with electricity and water.

Astakos is a market town of population about 4000 at a harbor on the north end of Astakos Bay. You can get car ferries to Ithaca and Cephelonia from here. It is easy to navigate to and there is a red harbor lights on the tip of the pier to guide you in at night. It was not very crowded when I went there, but that was in early September. We moored up alongside on the pontoon and the main problem that we had was strong catabolic winds in the late afternoon and early evening. The machines that deliver services look brand new and cards can be bought for them at an ice cream and newspaper kiosk on the key.
The town has a good variety of supermarkets and small shops, two or three hardware stores and one chandlery store, which somewhat limited stock. There is a hotel on the sea front, and in front of this there are some pebble beaches. There are a multitude of bars, cocktail bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. All of them are pretty reasonably priced. This place would not be described as a "high-end" destination. It has its charm still.

Fiskardo is a nice safe anchorage and harbor. The main problem is that it's difficult to see until you're almost there. Look out for the two towers on the starboard side of entrance.

1 x helpful | written on 6. Sep 2025

Paddy Meagher says:

Getting here is pretty straightforward. It is an open bay and easily visible. The options for mooring here are either to throw an anchor down or to anchor and put long lines ashore. The anchor holding is not excellent and the bottom is pebbly and sandy, and can be rocky in places. It is also pretty deep and the depth increases rapidly once you are more than 4 to 5 meters from the shore and increases to 10 to 20 meters depth within about 20 meters of the shore. This means that you need to put out quite a bit of anchor chain. Not a very secure bay to be in. There's a bit of a blow. The swimming area is just in front of the beach and extends out for about 40 meters. This is well marked off. The nearest village is uphill and about a 20 minute trek up a zigzag road to Stavros. This is a charming village and has two museums in it. One is a museum to navigation and the Odyssey and the other museum is a museum that demonstrates the proof of Ithaca being the original Ithaca, and is there to counter claims that other islands, such as Levkas make that they are the true Ithaca of Odysseus. Both are air-conditioned.

Entry into Poros is pretty easy. The main problem here is that you're anchoring in relatively deep water in about 12 to 15 meters. So it necessitates letting out a lot of chain. The swimming area extends out to about the 7 meter contour.

1 x helpful | written on 8. Sep 2025

Paddy Meagher says:

Pretty much all the anchoring here is, in pretty deep water, about 12 to 15 meters, there are some boats on the shore that are anchored with long lines, they too are in pretty deep water. East coast, there are some cliffs and caves and often yachts will put an anchor down here just to explore the cliffs, the caves, and picnic.

As of May 2026,this ancient small historical castellated Ottoman harbour is being renovated and is having a 4 metre wide paved quay with water and power services being added, probably ready by 2027. The city centre is adjacent. When we arrived at 9 O clock in the evening, there was a concert going on on the western side of the harbour. Coming through the gates is like sailing back in time to 1600AD.
Problems: depth is just 2m in places. No lazy lines, the bottom is littered with junk, we pulled up an old grapple anchor. For larger boats this might just be their dinghy destination. It is very small, and two boats maneuvering at the same time could be a spectator sport. It can be noisy.
