The harbor area in Høllen consists of a municipal quay, a marina, and privately-owned piers.
Distinguishing between them is not necessarily straightforward. Here is an explanation:

When approaching the harbor, you will have Høllen marina to starboard (east). There are no guest berths within the marina itself, but guests are allowed on the outermost part of the main quay. The rest of this side of the quay is reserved for fishers and permanent residents on the islands.
If you keep to port, you will enter the western harbor area. Here, a section of the quay (green zone) is reserved for guests, with a maximum stay of two hours introduced in August 2022. Inside the guest berths, space is reserved for route boats, fire boats, and other utility vessels.
Next, there are a few meters reserved for refueling. From here and further inwards, it becomes cramped for larger boats.
Inside of this, there are a few meters of quay, and in the summer season, a floating dock designed for Joker store customers. You can stay overnight here (8 PM to 12 PM) for a fee agreed with the store. The innermost docks are private.

Høllen can be a nice stop for refueling and a restaurant visit. The restaurant is open during the summer, and during the holidays, concerts, karaoke, and similar events are organized. The Joker store on the quay is open until 8 PM, and there is a Bunnpris store a few hundred meters further north that is open until 9 PM. Consider taking Høllegada with beautiful small southern Norway houses if you are heading to Bunnpris.

Other: The waste sorting facility on the quay is for cottages/residents on the islands and is locked, except for glass/metal. There are trash bins by the red service building southeast towards the beach. There are also toilets here.

For overnight or longer stays, Åros holiday center a bit east of Høllen is probably a better choice.

Pier facilities/recreational area on the east side of Prestøya. The pier is in quite poor condition in the fall of 2024. There are marked hiking trails and some "artworks" that can be amusing for children. Benches, lawn, and toilet. If you are a diver, there are opportunities for a nice wall dive on the south side of the island. See https://oneocean.no/nn/prestoya/

The depth at the pier is 2.5-3 meters towards the north. Sailboats MUST enter/exit from the north and keep well clear of the reef to the south. The reef has a "tongue" that extends a bit towards the northeast and there the depth is less than two meters.

Harbor connected to Åros holiday center. Many amenities during the summer season: Shop/restaurant/bar, heated pool, playground with bouncy pads, etc. Long and very shallow beach. OneOcean diving center is also located here. Good bus connections to Tangvall (10 min.) with most stores. Bus to Kristiansand city center takes about 30 minutes. Plenty of space in the harbor outside the busiest summer weeks. Payment with GoMarina.

Mooring is primarily alongside, but there are buoys outside the outermost pier if you need to tie up bow/stern in. The outside is exposed to the sea, so it is recommended to stay on the inside. The pier that runs NE-SW is also good. The innermost part of this pier is reserved for the dive center's boats. The piers with moorings are private spots. The area between Åros and Høllen is characterized by a large river delta that varies somewhat in extent from year to year. It is very shallow, and even smaller boats should keep several hundred meters away from the shore.

Guest berths are available both in TauvĂĽgen itself and in the more sheltered basin within the breakwater.
In TauvĂĽgen, enter north of Sagholmen towards the mill (large white building). There is also a fuel pump here. Guest berths are furthest west/outermost in the pier facility, shallow innermost. The entrance to the part of the harbor within the breakwater is a few hundred meters further south, narrow opening (5-6 meters). Guest berths are longside innermost.
Short distance to service building shared with motorhome parking. 15 minutes walk to store.

Calm and very sheltered harbour. Well-marked channel in the approach. Narrow entrance via a 'channel' but adequate maneuvering space inside the harbour. Relatively new, well-maintained facilities. Great service building with shower, toilet, and laundry room. The nearest shop is in Steinshamn, on the neighboring island, but there is road connection via a causeway, 3.5 km. Taxi is available, ask at the shop.

There is no fuel available in the guest harbour itself, but a diesel pump is found in the 'channel'.

Longside pier to the south, open and deep, easy access. Possible to moor in available spaces marked with red flags, access to some of these might be somewhat tight with a large boat and/or wind. With strong winds from southern directions (into the fjord), it can become somewhat unsettled at the outer pier.

The harbor is located by an industrial quay/area and is not a place one visits for the harbor itself. It is 2.5-3 km to Lyngdal center. Less than a km along the road/path to Sørlandsbadet and Rosfjord hotel/camping with beach and swimming/play opportunities.

The harbor master must be contacted at phone number 40047324 to get the code for the gate and service building. Payment via Vipps. Possibility for slipping smaller boats, service workshop in the immediate vicinity.

Long and sheltered strait. Scenic, a good alternative to BĂĽly harbour. BĂĽly harbour, the restaurant Under, and the Njervesanden beach are accessible by dinghy in calm weather.

Approaching from the south has some shallow areas, and one should be cautious and stay close to the land towards the east. Approaching from the north is recommended in significant swells, this route is free of obstacles but is marked with a depth of 2 meters on most charts. In reality, it is at least one meter deeper in the middle of the channel.

Developed area with docks and a couple of buoys in the south (Teinevika). Probably the area in the strait that is most exposed to wind. Bolts in the rock in several places. 10-12 meters depth with a muddy bottom also makes it possible to anchor.

Østre Randøya is a former Coastal Fort that has been converted into an outdoor recreational area.
Pier facilities along the rocks, best suited for bow-in mooring as the rock slopes out under the pier in several places. Alongside mooring furthest in with great caution. Access for small boats through 'Skippergada' from the north. Larger boats and sailboats must enter from the south, which can be challenging in rough seas.

Nice hiking areas, water post up by the buildings. Toilets within walking distance.

Swing room, but it is also possible to lie alongside the mountain. There is a 'plateau' to the north under 'Jubelheia' which almost forms a natural quay.

The pier facilities in Letterkilen are private.

There are a few guest berths at the outermost part of the northernmost pier in Abykilen.
Check the notice and contact the local boat association. Toilets are on the back of the small red building.

The outermost meters on the inside of the breakwater are guest spots, see the notice.
The ferry passes close by, and there can be a lot of boat traffic.

The place's (only?) attraction is Valøytinden, and if you are waiting for the weather, it's worth taking a trip up here. It doesn't sound so impressive with 137 meters above sea level, but at the top, there is a great view of the archipelago, and quite an airy drop on the south side. The hike starts a few hundred meters from the marina, and is well marked.
