Easy approach to the harbor. However, it may be a bit of work to navigate through islands and skerries at night before reaching the actual harbor inlet.
The harbor is decent. Power and water available on the dock. Guest spots at the outermost long dock. Space for 2-3 boats of 30-40 feet. However, it is certainly possible to moor at the long breakwater dock if the weather is good. It looks like it is set up for guests. There is both water and power on this 70-meter dock. But it is a bit of a walk around to get to the service building. There is a store right next to the harbor with opening hours every day (July 2026).

Moor alongside the quay on the outside. There is also a large buoy here. If more boats arrive, it is permitted to raft up. There is space for two 40-foot boats on the outside. It is possible for a smaller boat to stay furthest inside, but be cautious of shallow water. There is no power or water supply here. A nice harbor for those who are visiting Kvitnes Gård.

Entrance is a bit tight between the breakwater made of tires and the floating dock. But it's okay to enter from the other end of the breakwater between it and the land. Even at low tide, there was about 5m of water.
There is also a new dock belonging to the fish reception facility right next to it. Here one can also moor for a bit more payment than the old guest spots. It's actually meant for fishing boats and fish deliveries. A bit expensive when there was only electricity and water. No service buildings belonging to the docks.
There is a slipway/workshop hall with Volvo Penta based service.
Otherwise, there is a Coop store with limited opening hours from 10:00... and a church. A few hundred meters away by road. Access by ferry.

God brygger. Solid. God le for vind fra sør og øst. Her er det mye bølge fra trafikken opp Tjeldsundet. Solide bølger som sliter på fender og fortøyninger. Vær obs på dette ved fortøyning så går det bra. Her bør heller ikke båter ligge utpå hverandre. Seilbåter må også tenke på at mastene svinger mye i disse noe stressende bølger.
Spar butikk på kai er lagt ned. Kun vinmonopolet. Mat butikker ligger ca800m fra kai. Coop og Rema.

Greit å kalle opp havnevakta på kanal 12 før ankomst. Han vil anvise plass. Kom også ned på kai og hjalp til med fortøyning. God service. Fint å ligge her selv i litt ubehagelige østlig vind på 30knop. Her er du midt i byen med butikker rundt deg. Ingen dedikert service bygg og derfor mulig litt overpriset. Må gå et stykke bort til Hurtigrute kai i innseilingen for å finne dusj/wc. Her brukes et eget nett basert betalings system. Noe tidkrevende med registrering. Men greit å betale per kilowatt forbruk i ettertid. En må da huske å avslutte strømforbruket på nettstedet ved avsluttet opphold.

Good safe harbor. Good protection behind the breakwater. It can be a bit rough southwest down through the valley, especially in winter. The municipal quay facilities have undergone some redesign in recent years. It has become more of a dedicated harbor for fishing boats. It is marked as reserved for fishing boats, but guests will likely find space. If the space is occupied, there will likely be fixed moorings in place. No water on the pier. But power boxes are available. Pay via the Powerpay website accessible through a QR code on the boxes. We did not find any signs for harbor fees payment but this is also done through the same website as for the power boxes. There is a large Coop store nearby. Waste Environmental Station just behind the Coop. And unsorted waste in containers just across the river.
Great hiking area up the Kvalsund valley. Salmon fishing in the river near the breakwater. If you come from the west under the Kvalsund/Kvaløya bridge, be aware of strong currents in the sea. Best to adapt with the tide. On a rising tide, the current flows from west to east. And the opposite on a falling tide.

Nice place to come in after Stadhavet or to wait for calmer weather. Plenty of space for many boats as long as people moor properly by the finger pier and stern to the quay.
Service building lacked proper ventilation in the WC.
It was previously mentioned that there was construction work going on in the street. The streets were beautifully renovated when we were there at the end of July 2026.
Everything you need is here. 2 boating supply stores, wine monopoly, Kiwi, Rema...

Great harbor. Nice place to stay while waiting for better weather on the Lopphavet. No diesel, only 95-octane gasoline, and no water. Some noise from fishermen and small rental boats coming and going. The guest space is a bit small. It looked like most of the boats were moored for a long time. However, it should be possible to moor alongside each other. We had plenty of space for a 40-foot boat, but there wasn't room for many more.

Experienced the stay as very good. Stayed from Friday to Sunday, starting in early August 2026. Heard a little partying from the pier on Saturday, but that is to be expected in the city center. Speedboats and the pilot boat came close by on the outside, but wave breakers absorbed most of it. We stayed at the outermost part on the inside and found it to be very manageable. Clean and nice in the waste shed and very good shower/WC/washing machine/library. Some of the best we have seen between Stavanger and Hammerfest.

Poor quality of floating docks. On one dock, the maximum boat size is limited to 30 feet. It might be better to dock at the wooden pier for larger boats. There seemed to be a lot of fishing gear on that pier. You need to be mindful of the mooring due to tidal differences. No guest places marked. There is a power box on the two floating docks. There was no system for harbor fees (no app or Vipps).

Safe harbor for most wind directions. Many larger boats and large boat berths. Solid piers. The entrance is somewhat narrow. It is not advisable to encounter another boat going in the opposite direction here. Walking distance to shops.

Good pier. NOTE! A bit slippery when wet. There are several rescue ladders extending from the quay. Should not moor with the hull against these ladders. Something that divides up the quay space, making it natural to have space for only 3 large boats on each side. Few power boxes on the pier. So the last person must lay a long cable all the way over the gangway. There is no water on the pier. If you need water, you must go to the neighboring pier, or you will need at least 60m hose from the outlet on the wall by the wc/shower/sink.
The food at Bolgabrygge is top class. Service here is top notch. The restaurant has a great panoramic view from the pier.
Bolga has a maritime service workshop. We got help fixing an engine problem/oil leak.
There are also some museums for boat engines, model boats, old farms.
The local store is a bit nostalgic but has the essentials and very long self-service opening hours.

Beautiful idyllic place. Green and lush island. Safe pier. It has been previously mentioned that a pier lacked electricity. But now in July 2026, there was electricity/water on both piers. 8 power outlets on each. 8 berths (approximately 8m openings) on each pier. 2 smaller boats can fit in one berth. It's also possible to dock on the outside edge.
