Entrance and maritime conditions: Easy entrance. Call the harbor office when you are just outside and a harbor host will come and assist or direct you to a spot.
Docking: On the outermost breakwater, there are sinking lines from the dock that you grab to pull up stern mooring lines from the anchors on the bottom.
Then you secure two ropes to sturdy mooring bollards on the dock. Inside the breakwater, there are bays or you can dock alongside.

The Area: Here you will find everything. The boat shop is located along the river northeast of the harbor.

Entrance and maritime conditions: Be careful when entering the innermost lagoon where the floating dock is located. Follow the chart. No problem for us with a 2m draft.
Anchoring: At the floating dock, it goes well for everyone?
Experienced poor anchoring at 6.7m depth - sand and small stones. Had to re-anchor, let out 20m and let the wind do the job. After 20 minutes, we carefully reversed at around 1500rpm. We were set with a 25 kg Rocna and 20m chain.
The area: Haven't been ashore yet, but it looks very nice on the land side of the floating dock. 3 boats are there enjoying a campfire at night.

Anchorage places further inside the bay
Mooring: Longside in the guest harbor. Only water on the outermost breakwater, no electricity. But just sailed by to take a look.

Approach and maritime conditions: Smedasundet Guest Harbour in Haugesund is located just north of the Risøy Bridge, on the shore side (east side) of the Smedasundet. The approach is simple and you can enter from both the north and the south. From the south, you need to pass under the Risøy Bridge, which is reported to be 22 meters high. Otherwise, the approach is simple and well-marked. Just north of the guest pier, fast ferries arrive frequently. They can create some propeller wash and also pass close to the boats moored at the guest pier. Moor closer to the Risøy Bridge if you want to avoid this.
30.05.22 NOK 270 for boats over 10m Go Marina. No electricity :-(

Approach and maritime conditions: Can approach from SE and NE. The latter is a bit narrow, but completely fine when following the markers.
Docking: Dock at the pier - multiple boats side by side. Estimate 10-12 boats can fit. Payment via Vipps 150 for up to 40'. Electricity extra (more than 50)
The area: Beautiful place - very clean and well-maintained everywhere. Joker store with a good selection.
Excellent hiking trail, as shown on the map sketch.
Google Espevær and UFO!! Then you can see the traces with your own eyes on the hiking trail.

Approach and maritime conditions: Beautiful place if you visit Egersund and arrive late or want to save on harbor fees, or just want to enjoy life at anchor. A shoal in the bay that is marked on the map. Depth around 7 meters.
Possibly exposed to west wind, but with good holding it doesn't matter. Mud.
Fully possible to use a dinghy to get to town.
Easy approach to starboard after the island after the bridge when coming from the eastern passage to Egersund. Large anchorage also outside this lagoon, which is marked on the map at norskhavneguide.no
Fish are jumping in the water, but local fishing rules/times need to be checked.

Entry and maritime conditions: Sailboats cannot lie alongside at the northernmost part of the dock. During the active boating season with a lot of traffic, one should/must lie bow in. There can be some swell from traffic outside, but mostly protected from all winds except strong westerly winds.
Mooring: Fantastic island for walking. Great bathing bay on the east side of the island. Lie bow in/stern to long dock with fixed grills in the rock. Campsite on land. Short dinghy trip to restaurant and store at Hvasser.
The area: Easy entry. There is also a nice spot on the north side of Ildverket, where one must read the chart well due to a shoal, beyond that entry is trouble-free. Exposed to wind from the north.

Seems like very loose mud bottom just south of the actual harbor. We anchored there in nearly calm conditions with 3x depth at 8m. We would probably have spent more time checking the holding in a gale.
When you pass the anchorage and are within the harbor area, according to the website, you must pay the full harbor fee, even if you are at anchor.

Approach and maritime conditions: Fantastic place. In the area, there are certainly 20-30 anchorage spots and many places to moor to land.
Safest approach for sailboats is from the west.
The Area: Fire pits, camping spots on land. The bathing boat from Grimstad goes here. Many small coves with sandy beaches.

Anchored about 100m north of where the boat was moored to the rock. 58.34,91N 009.02,60E

Anchoring: Anchoring depth about 10m

The Area: Several spots just outside the cove where there is plenty of space for cabin cruisers to moor to the shore. Not tried with a sailboat.
